Please tell me where a first year, or even 5/7 year experience trucker is gonna make 80k otr or 100k ltl. I need to know these things, because I have a great paying job for my level of experience and I make about a third of that.

A trucking report through Indeed.com said a 3rd year Swift Driver OTR most of the year grossed $88,000.00.
Don't see what a 3rd party gains by lying.
    Just sayin'.

I like to see someone willing to work hard and go all out. Thing is, trucking can and will grind you down. So, we have to employ some strategy.

Dont choose a company or any or a career by the initial dollar amount offered. Go for the company that allows you to grow. It will pay huge dividends when you do decide to work smarter instead of harder.

Love to hear your Math on these figures. There's NO ONE COMPANY that pays a OTR Driver that kinda money. I have relative just retire from UPS 30 Years as a driver and NO WAY IN THIS COUNTRY a company driver makes that kinda money. #2 UPS , Yellow, All the highest paying outfits wouldn't let you work that much which means you cannot make that kinda money. O/O with Authority only possibility. PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG!!!! Cause I want to fill out application there.

Great book and flick. I think Tommie Lee Jones and Robert Duvall nailed the pats of Captain Call and Augustus. I still go on Youtube and watch it from time to time.I think I am going to go for it in the Spring. I was shooting for January but think I will wait for better weather and try to get 6-7 months experience before I deal with Winter. Thanks for your post. I hope you get home for Christmas. Be safe.CC

Capt you have a lot to learn about the lies that go around in this industry. The reason they lie is because they get paid to my friend. It's all advertising. Just to show you. I think when I was running outlaw I ran 201,000 miles give or take because I ran 200,000 back to back a few years. But I think I was making .37cpm maybe 38 and I grossed 74,000. Now that includes layover, detention, multiple stop loads, fuel bonus, vacation pay etc. This was 4 to 5 years ago b4 everybody started going to E log and the economy took a dive. So I doubt very serious if a swift driver in his 3rd year is making anywhere close to 60,000 let alone 80,000. Even if he is a trainer I doubt he is making that much.

I'd like to see Math on that also. 88k say divided by 120K miles ran in a year = .73 cents per mile. Swift Pays that hu? I'm filling app out as we speak. :) Just Sayin :)

What is the most money that a truck driver can both LEGALLY & SAFELY earn with the ways that the laws and trucking industry is set up?

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
