I did the CR England training and i paired up with a buddy of mine for our runs. We got lucky, got a dedicated on the route 66. From Chicago to Arizona. We had our learning curves and had some unexpected minor problems but overall we did good. This was a few years back and now im a broker since i have been in the industry for more than 15 years. It has helped me to be a better person dealing with truckers on my side of the world. As a company driver i made some decent $$ ($500/week) on my first ever year of driving. Since i was single with no attachments, i was able to bank almost 70% of my income.

This Dedicated Wal-Mart sounds good to me. I'd settle for home weekly. Can anyone tell me if they offer the same "gravy" on the west coast? I live in SoCalif. I believe they have a terminal in Fontana, or Mira Loma Ca. I live about 40 miles from either one of those cities. BTW: I've had my CDL (tanker,Doubles) for 11 yrs. However, I have "limited" experience with 53'. Been doing bottom dumps for the last 6 yrs.

If Fontana is close to you hen you might look for inter-model jobs around there. England and Schnieder have those and they pay more than the Wal-Mart gigs. If you have lot's of experience, I imagine you can do whatever you want.

I work for CR at Sterling also. This guy is full of it, probably a company plant. The DM's have their favorite drivers and they get the best loads with high miles. Everyone else gets short hauls with a couple stops. I've been making about $450 a week avg. Leaving next week for a small company with written guarantee of $1000 week to start.

Well...was he a plant??? We're all waiting in suspense...!!

I'm real and still driving for CRE Sterling. Dude says he's making 450/week. what a lazy looser. People who step up earn a living; lazy whiners fail - Darwinian justice if you ask meLast edited: Jan 22, 2014

I did that CRE Sterling (IL) gig for a bit around Christmas one year... it absolutely sucked! Gotta love all of those low bridges in the Chicago area... and 3rd shift forced dispatch... and super low pay... hmmmmm, maybe that's part of the reason why CRE is getting hit with another Class Action Lawsuit?

Crete had the Sterling dc for a while. I heard it sucked . Going to Chicago resulted in short miles. A friend of mine quit Crete over being forced to run on the fleet for a few days. He had his wife come get him and take him home to Ottawa Ill. So the company told him if he came back they would dispatch him on a regular load . So he went back. And this driver had been with Crete about 17 years at the time.

@Moving Forward: it sounds like you didn't like driving for CR England because you didn't like Chicago, but that could happen with any carrier....
