I have a 2007 freightliner century and after numerous visits to shops in and around houston have come up with nothing. I have 821000 miles on it. I have a knocking sound under floorboard on driver side that I can feel when I go over bumps .the sound starts loud then lowers with only 3 to 5 knocks. It does it mainly while bobtailing . I dont feel it under a load unless I roll over a very big bump at an higher speed. Not sure if this has anything to do with it but when I hit my brakes hard I feel a thump at the end of my brake.also no wear in tires. And u bolts are in good shape. I really would appreciate some info. Thanks in advance
in dire need of help

I have that on my argosy, on mine it's worn sway bar bushes/rubbers
-
Cab bushings and cab air ride "sway bar" bushings.
-
Could be a small kia wedged in there.......
ya never know !!
RustyChops41, Cetane+ and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
Check the cab shock bolts too......
-
well at least it does not sound like major engine damage. sorry I could not be more helpful.

I drive a 1999 FDL and it has done that for years. I will check out the anti sway bar bushings. If you get on empty at mm 63 55 south in ar it will bang for about 10 miles. Not so bad anywhere else.

I can't believe nobody could find such a simple problem
Sometimes the effort has to be made to jack up the truck, put the frame on stand and then shake everything down and even to take a prybar and start prying to find out hat is not supposed to be moving around. -
it is not my truck. They wont fix it unless I point to it.

Thx for the info. I hope thats the problem. One would wonder how the back of the cab would bang under drivers side floorboard. Tomorrow morning I'll let my mech take a look.
