Hi all! I'm Christina, and I'm interested in starting my trucking career! Any and all suggestions are happily received. I come from a trucking family (dads side)and my father-in-law and brother-in-law too, and I've finally gotten to a place in my life where starting this adventure is feasible. I have heard a lot of "war" stories about different companies and schools, so I am unsure about where to start, I'm in Indianapolis, Indiana, any suggestions? I have applied to Prime, Pam, and C.R. England. I was thinking about Schneider, but I haven't heard real good things about them.
Anyway, I would really love some input! Thanks ahead of time to everyone who takes the time to guide me!

Welcome aboard, ma'am.

Any chance of starting out with someone in your family? Or do feel it would be in your best interest to do this on your own? Welcome to our wonderful world.

well, my aunt and uncles are retired, and my dad already has a solo dedicated run, my father-in-law and brother-in-law ride as a team, so, it's just little "ol me by myself. I would love to team with my husband, but he has been told he can't drive due to his vision.

Use the search box in upper left. After a little research you will scratch England.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Well, thank you very much! Looking forward to getting on the road!

Thanks for the advice, researching now.

Indy has many options in most types of trucking.

You'll probably have to work for one of those kinds for a while. I did for 5 months at .19 a mile. Then the cheap driving was history (except a brief 11 day thing with Knight)

Thanks for the input, but I do have a question. I have spent most of my working years either as a full time mom, self employed, or as an independent contractor, therefore almost all my history working is untraceable, is there anything I can do to make myself stand out to a company? Should I wait for a recruiter to call me, or should I call them first? Today is Christmas after all, so I'm thinking that the recruiters are not available today? Any suggestions?
