I hear that some of the truck stops have buffets. My brother-in-law is an OTR trucker and says he buys a lot of tuna and beans on his off days in order to stay away from the truck stop foods. According to him, they will make one overweight FAST! So, which truck stops have buffets and how much are they? Forgot to ask my brother-in-law before he headed out again and he has no internet presence.
Thanks!

I only do buffets for the holiday dinners. We stopped at the TA in Wheeling WV for Christmas buffet and it was awesome. I also came down with explosive..... yeah....

T/A and Petro both have buffets for about $10 that wont make you fat. You can eat anything you like and not gain weight if you use moderation and portion control. I usually just get the buffet to go so that I cant go back for seconds.
UltimateTrucker Thanks this. -
The only buffet I ever saw that didn't give me fear of food poisoning was the Sunday morning buffet at the Greenbrier in West Virgina, great meal, a little pricey but a great meal.

Buffets are bad news. Period.

Think about all the people who don't wash their hands. That breathe sneeze and cough all over the buffets.
drvrtech77 and bergy Thank this. -
i never did try a buffet at the truckstop.......
Dont get me wrong.....I suppoprt the restaurants (Well, the ones that are left) 110%.......
I just never ordered the buffet.
Give it time folks.....Soon,The marketing departments of the T&A will start closing more of the restaurants.. (T&A just closed the restaurant in Effingham,Il,I WAS PISSED) I ve stopping there for over 20 years to sit down and eat, Now its Popeyes Chicken and Taco Bells.......
I need to find the Corporate people that make these decisions.....How about they start by Asking US first before they start cliosing stuff down huh?
The 76 truckstops had very warming atmospheres in the restaurants.......
Some of you folks dont remeber when you can buy 200 gallon of fuel in South Hollandf,Il at the 76...And you got a FREE steak n Egger breakfast. who does that anymore.. nobody -
Ya I remember, and fuel was less than $1.50.

I rarely eat a buffet for a number of reasons. As was mentioned, most any Petro or TA will have one, as well as some of the independents. But if you don't eat the buffet, you can will still spend a good amount of money if you order entrees. At the TA, it seems everything on the menu is between 10.99 and 13.99, regardless if it's steak and eggs, ham and beans, chicken dumplings, everything is priced about the same ... crazy. Subway seems like a very reasonable and sensible alternative after you spend $100 for 5 or 6 meals and drinks and tips
