Ok before anyone passes this thread off please read and give me some advice. I got into Pittston last night around 8 to begin TnT and meet my trainer. After introductions I told him I needed a log book as I didn't have one. He seemed to not know what I was talking about and then said "its right here" pointing to the qc. I said that I needed one for the event that the qc goes down. He said not to worry about it and that he didn't even know where his was. Then he explained the qc a bit to me and pointed to his hours remaining. Which at that time was 1 hour and 27 minutes. Then informed me we had to deadhead 90 miles and then pick up a loaded trailer and drive 350 to our 90. No big deal as I thought id be driving since he didn't have many hours left. He then set me up in the qc and further instructed me how to use it. Then we were off. I assumed he changed it back to him driving. After the 90 mile deadhead and about an hour in to our 350 miles to our 90 I had remembered that he didn't have any time left. I looked at the qc and saw over 6 hours of drive time left. I thought well maybe I'm just not familiar with the system and am reading it wrong. This gets better, he never weighed the load so after driving for some time he said he had to much weight on the drives and needed to slide the tandems. So he pulls over on the side of the highway to do this. He also missed two exits and got off the wrong exit twice. The second time we nearly hit a guardrail end. Nearly at our 90 we approached a bridge which said clearence 12'6 right side only. This seemed to confuse him and he moved into the right lane. I had to tell him he needed to get into the left lane. I am the student right? All this in less then 12 hours on my first day of TnT. How do I go about requesting a new trainer??

My fm is also of until at least Monday but id like to get off this truck asap. So who do I go to? There are other things he did that were just unsafe but to numerous to add to my already long post.

Call Prime at the next truckstop and tell them just what you told us.If this is your first day,id hate to think what its going to be like having this guy your entire training.Ask him how much exp he has. This sounds like the blind leading the blind.

My thought exactly. He just told me that he after this load he was going to tell the fm to dispatch as a team. I still need some training! And who would I call at prime? I only have the number to my fm who is off and my recruiter.
