Actually my first driving job did not include a road test, but I did ride with a guy for a couple of days, then I drove and he rode. That was in a concrete mixer. When I was hired at my present job ( 7.5 years ago) I was also hired without a road test. Then again, they are both small companies with less then 125 trucks and only 12 (at that time) at our facility.
It's over now, as I will re retired Jan 4th, but did offer to come back for part time till they fill my truck sometime this spring. Pending my schedule of course. Kind of have mixed feelings about it, I do like the job and driving, but also have other stuff to do come warm weather.
Recruiter says you are 100% approved !

"Uhh, sure."

391.33 Equivalent of road test. Question 1: If a driver was grandfathered from the skills test when he or she obtained a CDL, may an employer forego the administration of a road test as required by §391.31?
Guidance: Yes. While the grandfathered driver has not actually taken the CDL skills test, he or she has met the conditions described in §383.77, that are used as a substitute means of determining the drivers ability to operate the vehicle. Therefore, a grandfathered CDL holder may be treated the same as any other CDL holder in regards to foregoing employer skills testing -
Next they'll want your facebook private crap , and your TR screen name.

For example,
In their reply to my application(s), some recruiters would use terms such as, your application has been approved, you have been approved and yes more than a few used, you are 100% approved (thus the title of this forum). After serving a combined 7 years active duty and 6 years active reserve (US Army), CDL-A licensed and otr driver since 2004 and with business license in Europe and the USA and, who frequently travels abroad to attend various international trade fairs in Asia;I think I have enough knowledge to ascertain when someone is essentially saying yes or no to me and how they say it: Furthermore, there are many other drivers whom hold Science, Law, Business, Communications, Computer software degrees of some type etc, and many other drivers who may not have a college education but have a high degree of common sense who have been told that they were 100% approved (as there are quite a few trucker report post similar to this topic)- - -100% approved is a term rightly or wrongly being used by some recruiters in the trucking industry; has nothing to do about someone being new to some field to understand this fact ! ............... ...........................................................................................................saw ry!
