Thanks all, I know 3rd party is better and I would love to wait but only time will tell on that situation lol and from what I've been told starter companies are JUST that somewhere to start out and get the experience I'm already tired of research, but since I'm still not much better off than when I started I know I've got more to do lol hopefully I find a decent fit and make a way for myself. Happy holidays to all and best of luck in your endeavors as well

Yes, Millis Transfer would be excellent for you. You will need $500.00 though. It would be worth borrowing if you can, those drivers make $50K per year.

Georgia has the "Hope Grant" that pays for CDL school out of lottery proceeds. Unemployment office has that information.

I went with roehl and went through their school, rdtc in marshfield wisconsin, about center of the state. it's three weeks and cost about $3K and includes your room (a private hotel room) for the three weeks. You can finance the school through them and pay it off with solo miles, takes about a year to get full credit. Or you can pay for it up front in cash, like i did, and get reimbursed that money throughout your first year with them, again based on miles. I have three colleagues in my class that used the roehl financing and they have all done fine, have been treated no differently than myself....etc.

I would highly recommend the Roehl school, called RDTC. You walk out of it with your CDL and a job with the company if you pass the drug tests, etc.

I cannot say anything bad about Millis or Central...as others have said, do your research. It's OTR and hometime is a big issue for many.

I wish you the best with your pursuits. BTW with Roehl you can do Van, Refer, or Flat...

Glad to see someone enjoying a company. You push Roehl frequently on here. Forgive me, I missed if you was a driver or a recruiter.

I'm a driver and now I train as well. Started from day one with no class A experience about a year ago. I speak the truth about Roehl, don't get paid to do it. If you check my posting history from the past it started in the welcome wagon to where I am today.

Go where you want, just trying to assure some of these peeps that Roehl is legit. They ultimately make their own decisions. I also think Roehl is a bit selective....just because you want to go with them does not get you through the door.

And in conclusion, it is a job. It is as enjoyable as a job can be, same otr crap as everyone else. What I can say is they have never treated me improperly or poorly. I will say this about Roehl...don't expect any free stuff...lol, they are on the save money to make money plan for sure.

Just my opinion, Millis has one of the best programs out there, but its not free you will have to work for them for a predetermined amount of time, to pay for your training.

Yea I figured the "free" schools weren't free they get it back from you somehow but from what I've seen on their website it seems worth looking into and from what everyone's been telling me I'm going to call and see what my options are. So, just so I understand correct, Millis does offer their own training school, right?
