Are you back OTR, or a different dedicated fleet?

 

I got a dash cam too. I haven't used it yet. I heard that it's illegal to record police by audio in Illinois. So I want to figure out if I need to inform the cop if I ever get pulled over. Or just turn audio recording off all together.

 

Anyone else having crap luck with trailers lately? Drop my MT this morning, found my preload and backed up to it. Reefer is flashing alarm codes. I cleared them, powered it down and tried to restart it. No love though. Wouldn't start and same codes came back up.

So in the shop for the reefer ... again. This is my 3rd preload in a row with an alarm showing. Is winter always this rough on the reefers? I guess the bright side is that's its so cold out the temp stays below set point even when it's not running lol.

 

Oh joy!! My first trip into the Denver swift terminal and I already hate this place! There's no room for truck parking and the entire lot is full of trailers, mostly empty from what I've seen. This place is a real Charlie Foxtrot for sure!!

 

When I worked for swift I was in the Denver terminal weekly and it has always been hell to park in. usually trucks just park in the aisles and wow that place sucks

 

Back OTR. I liked my old DM. With students my gripe about getting stuck isn't really going to happen that often and I miss being treated like I matter! Boohoo, right?! Lol. Nice to be back with someone who answers the phone though. So Cal bound!!

 

How can it be illegal to record anything in your truck? That's crazy.

 

Well if the police come to your truck, then its police activity. and thats the part thats illegal in illinois. Not 100% sure if that law got thrown out yet or not. But if not, its a class 1 felony.

 

They'll simple ask if it's on, if so they will request you turn it off , that's it !

 

I don't know, looks like to me if those tards can record you then you should be able to record them. Fact is, as crooked as some cops are now days there's no way I'd turn it off. It's all about covering your own tail. They shouldn't be able to take away your means of keeping them honest.. Just my opinion.
