How not to park your truck...

well, this driver didn't seem like he likes the company at all..

 

Was this by any chance taken in Asheville, NC, Smokey Park Highway up from the DMV? I seem to recognize a lot in the photo, especially the dumpster because a buddy of mine owns that company.

 

Thanks for posting back. I kinda' thought that was it and was even more convinced last week when I had to go to that ProMed office across from it 3 times for a dog bite I got while on my job. Your header says you are a student. Are you attending Alliance?

 

I went to Alliance last spring (please tell the instructors there that a woman named Shook says hello - they'll remember me). Hubby and I were going to go trucking together, but that didn't work out. I drive for a home medical company in town doing home deliveries of oxygen/medical supplies. It required my CDL and hazmat so at least I'm using what I paid all that money for, and I love my job except for the dogs. I've been bit twice in the past 3 months. First time it was a little dog, little ankle bite. This last time it was a large dog, large double-fang bite that required 3 trips to Pro Med. Both times were totally unprovoked attacks with the owners admitting they knew their dogs bite, yet in neither case did the owners put the dogs up. People are just weird about their dogs, and 95% of all homes have at least one. I carry pepper spray but in both attacks I would not have even had time to pull it out before I was bit - they happen so fast, and I don't want to pepper spray every dog that walks up to check me out.

Are you planning to go over the road once you finish school? It is SO hard to find a decent paying job in Asheville, and the cost of living here is so incredibly high. Good luck with that. And good luck with school. Watch those instructors - they love to play jokes (like pulling the trailer brakes while you are driving). Tell them I said they were all a bunch of "goobers."

 

OMG! Did they get rid of him? I sure hope so. Yes I did have to deal with him, though he wasn't too bad with me. He did make it clear he didn't like women drivers though. I would beg Mr. Stephens not to put me out with Wills on the days he was there. I usually had Mr. DeCarlo or Mr. Wilson. Someone called Mr. Wilson "Mr. Wills" one day by accident and Mr. Wilson yelled "NO. Mr. Wills is an ugly old white fart that can't walk. Mr. Wilson is a fine young black man. Get it right!" Mr. Wilson is quite a hoot of a guy. I enjoyed all the teachers, except for Wills. I need to stop in and say hi sometime soon. I stopped a few months ago but only Mr. Huggins was there. Yes, please tell them all I said hi. Thanks. Good luck with Colonial. We went with CRST for a month and it was a total nightmare.
