I see a lot of wedges around here. Seems to me they would be limited on what they could haul back with that set-up. Talked to a guy at a truck stop this summer. He was using a 40'(?) gooseneck with a stepdeck and beavertail. Seems to me that you could haul a lot more types of freight with that than with a wedge. He claimed to have about a 75% reload rate.
I also see flatbed trucks with a trailer on the bed and towing one behind (haul & tow). Might be something for you to consider.

Good to know that someone else is already doing what I want to do (40'gn beaver tail with deck ramps). Now it's up to me to do it better.

I have a haul and tow and am happy with it . The deck is 26 ' and then pull a 20 - 25 footer behind it . With a 40' gooseneck , you usually won't be able to put 2 trailers on it because of their size . You could do it with cargo trailers but not usually camper trailers . They do have 53' center rail trailers for putting 2 or 3 real small ones on them but usually those are being pulled by class 8 trucks .

Yea, I figure the overall height would be more of an issue. Even with only one tt on the trailer may have it's benefits if it makes my chances of getting a backhaul that much greater.
I live right off I-94 in Indiana and see a lot of tt's being hauled and most of them are over 24' and a majority of those are 30' and up. With an average height of 10' I would have to get a lo-pro at maybe 24" tall in order to be able to land a 30' tt on a flat deck gn.
