I go by there almost every night. I've blown that stop many times, either because I forgot, the line was too long or I just was in a hurry. Most of the time the officers there are playing with their phones or just plain bored waiting for a horse hauler or an O/O hauling produce. They don't care about your coil or your pipes or anything for that matter.
Last time I stopped there a kid was there, I'm not even joking, he must've been 15, he wasn't even wearing a uniform, must've been giving his dad company at the booth. He opened the window and asked me "what you got?". I NEVER GET A QUESTION. Almost a year running to Valdosta every night and I've never been asked one word, but since this kid was trying to be a hard-as I answered "genital freight". He looks at me with a weird face and says "general freight"?. "Yeah". "Ok". Waves me on.
Well what do you think I have? Missiles? Chinese children? Albino arab horses. I'm pulling doubles, take a guess.

In florida,
even if you get a green bypass signal,
if you're hauling agriulture products...you ARE required to stop.
Unless the rules have changed, anyway.
The fines for violations will scare the crap out of you !!!SHC Thanks this. -
Their the biggest waste of my tax money! Paying 5 to 10 punks god knows what per hour to play with there phones and b/s with each other.
SHC Thanks this. -
I bypassed one with a 11' oversize load on. Trooper chased me down and asked me why I didn't stop. I explained that I thought since I was not hauling anything Agricultural, that I need not go in, and he explained that I ALWAYS need to go inot the inspection no matter if I'm loaded with steel, or even empty. I guess they thought I might have had a 11' watermellon on the deck lol

Almost all florida AG stations signs say "By pass When flashing"
ChevyCam Thanks this. -
we have the agricultural prepass
but WE MUST go in when loaded with ONION or any produce..Or a container loaded with something weird to be safe than sorry
If you dont have the agricultural prepass, dont skip it. Crap will hit the fan quick if they chase you. -
I had a similar situation at the I-10 bug check in Blythe. I was hauling a mobile home through like I had done a thousand times before, they always wave me through without asking me to stop (I take up both lanes so they want me out asap). He waved me through then I heard him yelling, my pilot car driver said "he wants you to stop where you are"... I was blocking both lanes, I got out, walked back to the coop, he asked for my BOL. I was like "what, its a mobile home, obviously there is no produce in it its a new house". He said where did you pick it up? Phoenix... "You need to remove the dirt and grass from the tractor on the back of your truck"... WTF? I said that dirt came from the job I did in San Diego yesterday. I went and got my log book and the BOL from the day before. He was cool, just asked if I used the crawler to load this morning, I said no, I hooked up this morning on concrete at the factory where the house was built. He said "have a nice day".
I had to shake my head in amazement. They are OK with illegals walking across the border with bags of oranges and bananas from Mexico but I can't come in with dirt from Arizona? -
Too much to go into here/now about how F#####up Fl has become in terms of AG enforcment--but in reality it would be nice if they went back to doing their JOB at the bughouses--they are there for MANY good reasons...... -
I saw one of the officers having a yelling match with a woman in a dually pulling a horse trailer a mile AFTER the Ag Station. Someone got schooled that afternoon.
