if someone is ask to be a spokesman and did not promote himself/herself then what are they going to arrest them for??

also in another post I wrote something that got me thinking that it answers the question about being disorganized and don't know what it is we want but this one sentence answers everything I have seen posted from everyone in one coherent sentence everyone can understand and agree with:

All any of us are asking for is a level playing field, fair pay for services rendered, honesty with the people we deal with, and sane rules and regulations!

look, i dont care if someone gets arrested for shutting down---the point is that it dosent solve anything---if there is a shutdown, which i am in agreement with if it happens, there has to be some coherent thought as to what to do when approached by the press or congress or who ever.

there has to be agreement from everybody who trucks as to what policies are to be put forth----as far as i am concerned, possibly the goverment should recognize for once that all of us are not out there for fun and games. This is the way we feed our families and some one had better come up with a long term plan to take care of the fuel problems which will dominate trucking for the near future. There has to be priorities set, who uses the roads, rvs, pleasure trucks,or commercial trucks. Hey the government set priorities when they taxed heavy trucks for using the roads and didnt tax all the others the same-----

i talked to a couple of drivers in loves the other night----hey, they dont seem to be concerned with fuel being what it is, since they are company and dont have to make out the checks for the fuel---

200 dollars used to get me a lot of fuel for my truck---at least a fill up---today your lucky to get a sniff----

Complete price caps are not the answer. Although I do agree that there should be different pricing for commercial trucks VS mom & pops motor home. On is a luxury the other is a national necessity.

I believe the the agreement $$$ to ship should be between the shipper and the broker/co. It is then up to you to insure you get paid a proper wage by the co/broker.

The FSC is paid by the shipper to offest the cost of fuel and is intended to be passed to the person paying the fuel bill. This should be disclosed on ALL documents.

I think FSC should be a number one item of requirement and enforcement.

I also believe loads should be paid by percentage not a guestimated deflated CPM.

With these in place the total shipping charges including FSC would be required on all BOL's

I agree that a shutdown or strike or whatever you call it could work, if we all band togeather. But the ignorance of the above quote, has me as mad as the poor freight rates and the fuel prices. "Block the Highways" Come on. Doesn't the motoring public think low enough of us as it is? If a shutdown were to work it needs to hit the public in the pocket book and in shortages on the shelves. If we add a complete traffic screw up to it, we will be shooting ourselves in the foot so to speak.

But if something like this shutdown does come to reality, I will bet that there will be some of the same IDIOTS we all here on the CB, that will do something as stupid as blocking the highways...... no wonder the 4 wheelers hate us, with morons like this out here.

I have to agree. The last thing we want to do is create enemies with Joe 4-wheeler. Attitudes like shut down the highways will only invite separation of support from Joe and Gina Non-trucker.

Anything that is done must do so in a way to make the public knowledgable of the problems being faced and that they too are in the path of the frieght train that is killing the American Trucker.

We may be driving the truck but they are riding in the passenger seat, whether they know it or not.

The general public won't hear us if they are PO'd.

Thank you, I was seeing a-lot of shut down the hiways crap..... I see it as a losing proposition if we do something as stupid as that.

If your going to shut down, pick a truck stop, rest area, go home, or get to a vacation spot. Please don't block the highway!

I cant say I agree only because there are around 40,000 Little men out there right now and they are all pissed because of what "WE" are paying for fuel!

Our FREIGHT RATES do NOT Match what we are now paying at the service desk! BOTTOM LINE, We DONT want to create HAVOC on the interstates.

We do want to be heard/seen ect.. But Shutting down a FREEWAY "SHOULD" Land your ### in jail! We could KILL people that way and like others in here with brains have said THATS NOT WHAT WE WANT THE PUBLIC TO THINK!

We are all good people but we just want to be heard, and things to be done about it. NOT KILL PEOPLE, or shut down highways! Thats ########!

Who ever thinks they will get the other guys here to agree on shutting down and blocking ROADS are crazy and I myself will not back that one.

Thats going about the whole dam thing WRONG! :biggrin_25524:

JUST keep'r at home if your going to act like that. The ones that will pull off the ROAD's and onto the shoulder will get more attention before the dumb ### who acts retarded and STOPS the HIGHWAY!

Has anyone noticed the fuel prices going up on Saturday's? I went by a Love's yesterday morning and it was $3.89, later that afternoon it was $3.92. Isn't this jumping the gun just a little when no trading is taking place on Saturday's?
