Thanks to this board for providing an outstanding source of information.
My query is whether I can attend a Tech school or community college CDL program in a state different than my residency without paying out of state tuition rates. I understand that I would probably not be grant eligible to reduce costs further.
I will be returning later this year from overseas and am open to training anywhere. My native state does not offer these types of programs and I have a preference for them as they often offer a longer training window which I feel will benefit this newbie greatly. My goal is not only to secure employment but also to be comfortable and well trained behind the wheel when I start.
Many of the CC and tech school programs in the south seem very attractive for their cost and also that many of these states offer bountiful employment options.
Anyone with info. on this or am I best suited to contact each individual school?

The Truck Driver Training curriculum provides students with training to inspect and operate tractor-trailers and to assume driver responsibilities on the road and at pickup/delivery points. All training, instruction, and testing are done at school facilities and in school-provided equipment.
[h=3]Program Outcomes:[/h] After satisfactory completion of all course requirements, students receive a Class A Commercial Driver License, DOT 380 certificate, and a JCC curriculum certificate.
The school also helps place graduates into industry employment. A Recruiter Day/Job Fair is scheduled in each class for valuable networking opportunities.
[h=3]Occupational Outlook[/h] The NC Truck Driver Training School program is nationally ranked for providing graduates with an excellent foundation for a truck-driving career. Our students are tested thoroughly through both on-the-road and written exams to ensure they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to successfully and safely operate commercial vehicles. Graduates from our course can expect to earn an average of $40,000 to $45,000 in their first year of employment with an established company.
