EeeK! Sound nasty, best of luck to you! I Started with "TransAm trucking" (You'll be seeing a lot of them at meat house), and training was only for 2 weeks. 2 professionals and 1 truck didn't work well for me.

Very few people are happy when with their trainer, no matter what company they drive for.
Think about it...two people of very diverse backgrounds cooped up in a space smaller than most closets, for days at a time.
But it's a means to the end.

I think most people prefer a fair wage as the man is usually maki g millions of your sweat why cant you bring home 7 to 800 a week from the start if making the miles?

With no experience lets see how many jobs you can find making 7-800 per week. We all have to start somewhere, and with no experience you start at the bottom. Then you prove yourself and move up the ladder to better jobs and better pay. You cant just jump in and expect to become rich and famous over night.
Although some will pay a newbee more then others, your choice. Good luck on your quest to a "Fair Wage" with no experience.

    Shawn91481 and Emulsified Thank this.

I guess I lucked out. My trainer and I got along great. He picked me because we were both from Las Cruces, New Mexico.

I always love hearing from people that had good trainers. I too had a great trainer, but that was a lonnnnggg time ago, and things were different. I have the greatest respect for those people that train and sincerely give of themselves to help others get started.
There are just too few of them out there and not everyone, no matter how good they are, is cut out to be a trainer.

From a family member who ran in their lease fleet for 2 years.
Expect to make MULTIPLE crop picks in the southwest, 7-8 for each load wasn't unusual. First come first served at these shippers. The family is WEALTHY (reference the 2 Mercedes 63s, 2 Bentley Continentals and most recently I hear a Bugatti Veyron parked AT THE TERMINAL just to show the workers who's in charge) and you'll learn why very quickly. Some loads you wont be able to run with more than 1/3rd tank of fuel to make weight, refueling every 400 miles or so. Upon leaving Stevens, my brother met the new driver assigned to take his rig. He made a deal with the new driver to leave the centra-matics on the wheels, the chrome lug and hub covers, the colored load lenses and so forth, since he was solo he never unwrapped the top bunk mattress. Upon receiving his settlement, the shop charged labor and material fees to "replace" or remove all these items....even though the new driver wanted/paid for them. Bottom line, his settlement was dinged for almost half of what he was supposed to get for turning in a lease truck. (no physical damage)
Before someone makes accusations of a dirtbag driver, understand how my brother is....when he had downtime or 34 hr resets, he HAND POLISHED all the stainless/aluminum on his rig as he's obsessed with appearance. Still does this today as a company driver in Florida.
OH. almost forgot (don't know if the truck still exists) while he was with Stevens there was the bumblebee. A yellow truck that was the company RAT. He would call in on any/everything and what makes this better, he was good friends with the safety director who would take the bumblebee out for the same purpose....RAT on drivers

A RAT can not have anything to say about you, if you are a honest, ethical driver.

The lease states that the truck MUST be returned to the company with all accessories removed.

Mr. Stevens has spent over 25 years growing and maintaining a profitable company. He and his family can enjoy the rewards of that success.
