When I first went to Ontario the orange ball was still up. TA was still in the process of converting the 76 stops. My first time to Bloomsbury, New Jersey was right after they switched over. Memories......
Are California truckstops full or not after New Year?

The Petro was a TA. The TA was the 76.

Until my brother got that app with current fuel prices we would use the T/A in Ontario as the base line for fuel prices, because it had the highest prices in the country. Any time we passed a truck stop we would note the price as a negative against the Ontario T/A. Lowest price we recorded was some truck stop in Mississippi on the I-20 at -$0.84.
Regarding the question of whether truck stops have more parking, not sure if it is simply seasonal slow freight or the new regulations kicking in, but I've been running California exclusively after the 1st and the lots in LA area and up here in the Modesto/Sacremento area are no more than 75% full. LOTS of parking at any hour of the day.
We can only hope that this means there is an impact on the number of trucks available to haul freight, but time will tell.
