I prefer a Pete cause I grew up in a 359 with the vette dash. I have always drove either a 379 or a w9. I drove a few classics because mine was in the shop. I like the feel of a Peterbilt over Kenworth. Yes I'm the stereotype I let all the air out of my seat because that's the way I feel comfortable. I drove a '93 379EXHD for years after that one was gone I got a 2000 that I completely wore out. Now I'm driving an 06. Me saying I like Peterbilt is like the next guy saying he loves Volvo it's our preference. I like a hood it's my preference. I'm not one of these guys that things I need to pack my house in my truck. I keep a briefcase on the riders seat with everything in paperwork wise or things I need while driving. The sleeper has a shower bag under the bunk a tv a microwave and a little burton stove. My truck has a fridge in it that I use. I don't need all that other ####. My truck is nice an organized.

You sound like me with my truck, it's a preference true , but they are very well made to order. I can't think of any other truck I'd rather drive. That being said I've never driven a Volvo , maybe I like my hood because it reminds me of some of the trucks my dad had for his auto flattening business. But you can't beat that ride. And I put the seat all the way down too. Paccar doesn't cut corners with the classics, of course we pay for that too. Everyone is different , some like blondes others brunettes. It's all in what works best for you.

I ride with my seat on the floor of my 359, I can't see me ever trading for something else

I actually don't have a tv, but do have, microwave and printer/copier/fax, I like having a larger fridge so I do t have to eat in the truck stops so much, and the dinette is great, mainly I like the quiet and ride of the Volvo, do t get me wrong, if I could get the same mpg out of a LOWMAX with the big bunk and dinette, I'd be there in a heartbeat, I also never put air in my seat, I've always done that, and I don't judge those in the large cars, I don't get throwing the cash away in fuel, but two each their own.
I actually looked a Mack pinnacle with the set forward axel and rawhide package, you can get it with the same drivetrain as my 780 so I'd love to know what the difference in mpg's would be. It was a sweet looking truck.
