While on break, your representing Walmart and just be doing what Walmart requires, which makes a driver walk a fine line 24/7 x 5 days a week. What I'm saying, 5 days a week living in the truck even at top pay is less than $15 an hour. My friend that works there made $68,000 in his first year.

Well thats how you can calculate it. I choose to calculate actually time worked. My buddy works there too, his first year was right at 80k. 80,000 devided by 52 weeks, devided by 70 hours. I come up with $21.97. Your buddy I get $18.68.

Now I know that's a rough estimate. But good enough for me to get an idea.

Nope. If I were to count all the time away from home during a week, which would be about 108 hours (4.5 days), I still make well above $15 an hour. I am in my first year driving for Walmart, so I am not even in the high end of the pay scale that my fellow senior drivers are being paid.

Your friend must not be working very hard during his 14 hour day if he only made $68K for a full year. His ADP would only be about $261 a day based on a 5 day work week. That is pretty low!

Hello all.. just been reading some of the post.. and I just started with Walmart as a driver.. been there for one week.. ITS GREAT SO FAR.. here is a little background of myself.....My last 36 years of driving was with two different companies.. first I drove for Sutton trucking pulling beer overroad.. was there for 18 years.. they went out of business.. then I got a job with Domino's pizza delivering product to dominos.. was there also for 18years.. but left due to being tired of working handcart/ and some very heard labor.. pay was good,, but you earned it.. so I decided to try to get on Walmart.. and got on.. They are a great company to drive for..[been there for 1 week].. as far as I can tell.. Everyone treats you awesome.. like they have known me for years... To get on is very tough.. from what I can see they have only the best driver's with the best records in the industry...You have to go online to apply, then they give you a phone interview.. if you pass that you go in for the driving test and pretrip.. and if you make it that far make sure you have a proper pretrip down.. I went to youtube and watched dot pretrip's on tractor trailer's.. I watched them all and I recommend you do the same.. They just want to make sure you know what is where and why... Driving test take you time, dont speed, dont hit a curb and stop signs means STOP.. not roll thru.. also right turns in your state if you can turn right on red make sure you come to a complete stop then turn.. dont roll thru it.. dot your i's and do you home work and its a piece of cake.. If they are hiring I wish you the best of luck.. and hope you get on.. any other questions let me know if I can help, and have a great day...

Welcome aboard Capt Jay. Wow, 18 years slinging dough for Dominos is impressive considering how labor intensive it is. Your new job here at the Walmart Private Fleet is like sitting in a rocking chair by comparison. :)

Thanks!! I'm trying to keep my head up but I keep getting beat out by you more qualified drivers. Lol. Before I applied I thought 17 years 1.5 million safe driving miles ,Same job for last 13 was pretty good. But no call yet. I found out today fort pierce is still looking for 5 more drivers so I have my fingers crossed.
