Well, I can't comment on moving the CDL, but as to the cost of box, it's about 75 quarterly. They have many sizes of boxes. As far as "allowing" you to use it on your license, I'm sure they want a physical address - i don't tell them it's a box.
What do I do with mail delivery when I'm out on the road for ?? weeks.

Right on... Im not moving it but would like to switch my address... with check out the ups box idea.thanksBobbyMisc65 and bergy Thank this. -
I been driving for several years am a single man with no one to get my mail for me. I rent a large mailbox at the post office it holds all my mail for me. I also let the post office known I'm gone for months at a time if the box gets to full they hold my mail for me. It is cheaper than a box at a ups store or any other mail store.

Just out of curiosity how do you keep your house safe and secure? What about winter time at your house and it freezing out and your pipes burst? How do you handle this type of stuff?BobbyMisc65 Thanks this. -
Looking into it and doing my research on this I was thinking the same exact thing my friend... thanks for the comments. Happy holidays!bergy Thanks this.

I live in southern California so pipes freezing is not a big problem but they are all wrapped with heat tape and I shut my water off before I leave. Once water is shut off I run all the faucets on high to empty the lines. They will sputter when you get home but once air is gone all is good. As for securing the house I live in a gated community with nightly security patrols. I made good friends with my neighbors and they know when I'm gone they watch out for me. I also call the security company before I leave and tell them how long I will be gone and they are extra cautious as they go by my house while I'm gone. They actually caught someone trying to get in my shed while I was gone.HalpinUout Thanks this.

Sounds like you need better gates lol. My fiance is home while I'm gone but otherwise I would give a family member, friend, or trusted neighbor (all of the above probably) and have them check on the place every couple days. We used to do that for my uncle when he was on the road. He drove for greensmix taking equipment to a site to build a new golf course, then build the course then drive equipment back. They were gone 3-4 months at a time so we would check mail and pay bills with checks he already signed while there.BobbyMisc65 Thanks this.

I used to own a house in a cold climate. I would turn the water down to the low or vacation setting, turn the furnace down to 50 deg, and the pipes under the house were in a insulated crawl space. Never had one bust. I could have drained everything via pipe drains installed after the main water shutoff, but that would be a pain and not necessary unless it's sub zero for days on end, which it never did. The outside spigots were wrapped and I also had ball valves installed in the crawl space to shut them off and drain them before I wrapped them. That just left the issue with shoveling snow within 24 hours of last snowfall (city code). I paid my neighbors son to do that one. Then I got smarter and moved somewhere warm.
