At the TA in cartersville GA watching a swift trainee get backing practice
-
Who's he practicing backing into?

Charleston MO at the Boomland. Got a really bad paying load out of the yard, but it does pay tomorrow! The other things offered won't pay until the end of the ice age... hell (aka IL, IN and OH) will have to unfreeze first!

-
I'm Stuck in California... its 75 degrees outside... But keep warm til Wednesday.
-
Definately jealous, but not as much as WY and few more.
In SpringMo, left IL & IN.....but those guys above got it much worse.
Enjoy it while you got it, for sure!.

Damnnnnnn...............
And I thought I've seen cold lately!
Can't hold a candle to that, though you prob wish I would!
Good to hear from you & sounds like your well, though frozen. Don't worry..... it'll all work out. I'm sure to get a run that way sooner or later. We'll find you, bring you back & thaw you out. Just think, you'll just be that much younger!

I'm still in cartersville GA. The Buttweiper brewery here loaded me too heavy in the back and now I can't get the weight off my steers. The warehouse people there are being difficult so now I have to wait to get back in today .

I take it you already shifted the 5th wheel back then? Kinda rare that they would do that, never really had a problem with the Bud plants.
-
What Highway said, tandems forward, fifth wheel back (200# a notch)... and think about this. The fuel weight is up on your steers mostly. The older trucks with the exposed tanks had about 6# out of 8# for every gallon on the steers. Some of that weight will burn off with the miles. Also, there is a 400# exemption for excess weight on the tractor for your APU. As long as you are under 80,000#, the scale house will usually let you slide for a few hundred extra on one of your axles.
...if you don't know what fuel does to the weight of your tractor, you need to experiment. Go in bobtail, light on fuel and get a scale ticket, fill up, scale again. Then divide he axle weights by the gallons to see how much weight per gallon changes on your steer and drive axles. -
The scale is not gonna let you slide much on your steer axle depending on the tire rating and axle rating. Axle rating is found on the door jam. Tire rating on the tire. Tire rating x 2 (2 steer tires) is the max carrying weight of the tire.
ive learned to show up to Bud with about 1/3 tank.
