Maybe it is a 13 speed and you have a bad spitter valve or bad switch in the shifter handle.

Does sound like you might have a bad head gasket, or cracked head, or something serious.

That's what I am afraid of would not be so bad if I had not just redone the front end I got to catch up from that 3000 dollar bill first LOL oh well this is trucking :)
Was quoted today labor at 2700 700 gaskets not to mention the new fluids and everything

Not to scare you, but very rarely does a just a head gasket go bad. Usually something cause it like a cracked head or liner.

This is why I do all my own work.

    tsavory Thanks this.

I'd bet on a head gasket. This means a liner sunk. The $2700 will not include the time or labor to cut the counter bores and shim the liners back up.

    SL3406 and tsavory Thank this.

dang it If that's the case I will drop this truck for now and fix the Volvo sooner it should only take about 3000 it just had new springs tie rod ends shocks turbo clutch and a few other things just needs new dryer(300) kingpins(700) and ECM rebuilt(600) rest towards drive tires would have done it already but thought I had a good deal on this one 7500 with a kitty cat instead of the Volvo d12 and Volvo Trans Now that Clutch is a trip 18" single disk no clutch break shift like you in you Honda LOL
