Oh....great instructor. Don't think I could have gotten any better. Get along great and teaching me at every opportunity. Very greatfull student here. While nerves frazzled at times, been a fun experience all around.

Got in some good winter driving for 2 or so hrs from IN to Chicago. About 8 hrs overall. Quite a mess. Worst part was dealing w/ignorant 4wheelers. Used to that to degree, but MUCH more an issue driving a rig.

All in all, actual driving not as bad as expected. Actions of 4wheelers much worse than imagined. Have a whole new perspective on that. :biggrin_25521:

Dropped load & waiting on new load, hopefully back to SpringMo for testing.

Instructor doesn't do TnT, so fingers crossed on getting a good trainer. Hoping for similar in trainer.

Looks like you'll be getting back to test about the same time I arrive to start on Jan 7. So your instructor was good? He'll be looking for a new student? Hey - I'm a new student looking for a good instructor! I'll look for you in Springfield next week if you are there.

More snow driving yesterday am. Pretty lousy from Chicago to Joliet when it started to clear up. Pretty good from there to Quincy.

Below 0 temps in Quincy overnight, so first night idling. ####, it's cold. Making our way back to SpringMo for testing out after another load.

Sorry Musicmaker60, but instructor will be picking up next student early in week. You'll get hooked up. Good luck with orientation. It'll be what you make of it. Make it count, and enjoy.:biggrin_25519:

Weather gone bit bad again in SpringMo, so will prob test out Tues now.

One good development.... Instructor decided to take me through TnT, anyways. Good to know what to expect now.

While back at SpringMo, tried to start up F250 left last 2wks or so. Looks like weather did in both batteries, as dead as doornail. Jump packs from service/maintenance couldn't even get close to crank.

Hopefully will get to work on tomorrow evening after more practice on pad backing. Priorities first. Got out early today, but only one corner of pad with barely visable lines. Not optimal, but practice nonetheless. Cold as the dickens, but was in truck for most part. Instructor however, froze his ### off coaching. Cudos to dedication, there.

More practice tomorrow, then probably test Wed. Thank goodness it'll be much warmer.

    Peace

I'm planning on starting first week of Feb.

Looks like it's been about 5 weeks from your first day till you test, is that correct?
Did you have a CDL Permit when you showed up?
If not, were you ready to test for the permit?

What costs have you incurred since training started?

    Thanks in advance.
