If you want to run, they will run you, if you want to be home, don't count on it but maybe once a month. Bottom line is, want to make money then you need to run miles, they will give you that if thats what you want. Are there better companys, i'm sure there is, but this one isn't that bad. We all see others remarks but we don't really know the truth behind the remark, sometimes you just have to see for yourself.

I had a bad experience with this company. It was was not working there however, it was making a delivery to the place.

I was about 30 minutes late for my appointment, and it turned out to be the old man, Mr Chizek himself who unloaded me.

He asked me why I was late, and instead of making up some story, I told him that I didn't have an excuse. He got really angry at this point with his body language, and told me he was going to fine my company $1000 for me being late. I didn't say anything back so as not to escalate the situation.

After I got my bills back from him, I saw that he marked on them that I was over an hour late. Something that was not true.

So I asked him to correct his mistake. He then threatened to call the cops on me, and ordered me off the property.

I told him to go ahead and call the cops, and reminded him that he was lying on the bills. He never did call anyone though, and walked off in a huff. So I left.

There is always two sides to every story, and I'm sure Mr Chizek has his on this one. Make of it what you will, but needless to say, I won't ever be working for this person.

I have been with three companies since getting my CDL's, but if they are willing and (most times, need drivers) I think it is what you make of it. The last company that I worked for, I loved it. Most runs were to PA, but I got a pretty nice RI, KY, NC, SC, MD and a Jersey run, They got me home every weekend, and the miles were there. I just didn't have much experience with paper logs, but even then, they got a DOT officer, to sit with me and other driver to make sure we knew how to fill them out. I had an issue and they let me go, but nice company to work for. So I will be starting with the same company Monday as well.

This is just a observation. 2 drivers both on 3rd company in a year and going to a small road warrior outfit? May fill in the blank, have mercy on your soul

Yeah I guess one can look at it that way, but I will to give some clarification. I started out with a company that did dedicated accounts, and ran for them right out of school, I was still learning the truck and the routes. I made some bad decisions and have some "incidents" on my record, and since the second company was consider a "second chance" company I went with them because I liked the trucking life. I had to leave because the first trainer was not suited to train, in my opinion, so I left and came back, since I didn't have enough experience to work for anyone else at the time. The second tour, if you will, the trainer and I didn't see eye to eye on some things and I really wasn't concentrating on driving, the third trainer taught me more about driving OTR, and help me improve thus making it worthwhile to drive. but being an "east coast company driver" (their rules are no solo east coast driver can be on the west and vice versa, I got "stuck" mainly the west coast I.E. CA, NM,AZ, WY,CO, and I couldn't get home in 3 months even after I was promised that it would not be a problem and was approved., The third company was a small "local" outfit. with VNs and older trailers. (since the beginning of the new year, I am told that they have updated their fleet to '13's and '14's Volvos and brand new trailers) I drove a 06 Volvo 730 with an 13 that the tranny was bad, and the gears stuck/ one mishap with a trailer, and now the insurance was too high, so I had to go. (trailer was previously repaired for a crack before the first set of tandems and after being loaded in Baltimore, re-aggravated the damage and since I didn't notice it without running my finger down and under the frame, bringing it back to the yard some 4 or 500 hundred miles, they worried that DOT would have shut me down. I would have given anything to stay with the last company, but that didn't work out. It is my belief that as long as one drives, the better he or she becomes and these things would be less of an issue. I now take longer to inspect the tractor and trailer, scale every load, even if it is "light", pull over, if I am tired, drive slower in bad weather, watch "EVERYONE IN THE MIRRORS. AND CHECK ALL MIRRORS, contact the shop about every little detail. Don't pull into a shippers or customers lot if I DON'T FEEL SAFE. Run the truck 5 miles slower than posted speed. These are just some of the things that I do.Some may think that I am a rookie, don't know how to drive, being over cautious, etc.... I don't mind, all I know is that the load is delivered and I still come home. Make a mistake once, learn from it and don't repeat it.

Actually going route 30 in Ohio isn't as bad as it used to be. It's all 4 lane now, and Ohio raise the speeds of the us 4lane highways to 70.
