Hello all. I'm in need of some advice on what are the best trucking companies that respect religious convictions. I'm what is called a Sabbath keeper. I can work 6 days a week, but from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday I cannot work. I'm trying to find out if there are any Sabbath keeping truck drivers out there here. I'd like to do OTR as long as I can keep the Sabbath. Can anyone help??
Thanks

Never heard of this belief. Why is it so critical not to drive those hrs?Doubt you'll find any companies that will work with you on this.
Dharok Thanks this. -
Most companies don't recognize holidays, let alone a Company that would allow you to park for 24 plus hrs. You must be a Seventh Day Adventist, as that is the only Faith beside the Jewish faith that worships on Saturday. No offense meant by my comments.

Where do you live...someone might know something.

Everyone wants their stuff Monday morning
Sunday is just another workday.
You can catch a Sunday church service in most major truck stopsDharok Thanks this. -
My company runs captive to a Sabbath keeping company and hires the non observing, to work during times those who observe the forbidden times can't work.
This is what it is, there are places that won't work, ship, or take deliveries during the Sabbath or on what we call 'black' days. It really has little to do with what the truckers want. Our plant places those loads outside the gates, and we can run them to deliver when they are wanted.
If you find a company like that, they may accommodate your beliefs and practices. Ours uses others to accomplish what they want, trucking runs outside the plant, subsidiaries and others that observe the Sabbath and certain Holidays. -
It doesn't appear he is interested in Sunday services. The Sabbath is Saturday by certain faiths. Jewish, Seventh Day Adventist, and Jehovah's Witness are the ones that come to mind. It's like I said earlier, most trucking companies don't recognize holiday's, let alone religions.

He might be able to find a regional gig but true OTR is gonna be unlikely as it is usually irregular route aka irregular schedule.

Contact McKee Foods in Collegedale, TN. They ship Little Debbies in their own fleet, and are managed/owned by Seven Day Adventists. Their plants, and all of Collegedale, strictly operates around the Sabbath. They even have a city noise ordinance which prevents mowing, construction, and etc. on Saturday.
Trucker61016, rabbiporkchop and heyns57 Thank this.
