any company that hauls hazmat, and cares about their business, will look at those tickets, and move on to the next applicant. They will also look at your work history and how long you stayed at each company.
Too many tickets to get hired in the oilfields?

There are a bunch of services companies all around San Angelo, on top of the 'Major League' one's. I am pretty sure that you' ll be able to find something to start with even with a 'record' so to speak

Forget about any Majors, Even though I have a clean MVR its rediculous the hoops you have to go through for a 16hr job driving a tanker/Vac truck In Midland/Odessa/Big Lake/San Angelo areas. I picked up an App at C&W thats 48 pages long full of fees topping around 200 for Worksteps DOT tests. Today I picked up a tutle and tutle app its 22 pages and on the first page is a list of driving infractions that automatically disqualify you. Select Energy? forget it.. 24 pages and a quiz with a bunch of BS.
The good news is those majors have most of their equipment sitting at the yard making no money because they think it takes a rocket scientist to operate. The smaller mom and pop oilfield companies will get the contracts back after the said Majors HR and management departments killed the goose.
Look for a small outfit. One that when you go in fill out an app and turn it in. Will tell you on the spot if your hired or not.flightwatch Thanks this. -
That is CSA, and I have no CSA points. My tickets are minor infractions that did not involve a DOT inspection (which would result in CSA points.) Remember...my tickets were for being in the wrong lane going through a toll both...not speeding or any other type of serious moving violation that would go against a company's BASIC score. I also don't have any accidents or anything else on my record. I'm a good driver that was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. This wouldn't even be an issue if it wasn't for Florida's stupid ### point system. I will wait to get my Texas cdl and hazmat before applying to any positions, and I appreciate the feedback and suggestions.
FWIW, I am no stranger to San Angelo, the big country, or the Concho valley. I spent about 5 years in that area back in the early 2000's running heavy equipment. In fact, my 1st son was born at San Angelo Community, and I helped build all of the roads that lead into Lake Ivie.
Edit: Nevermind the First part. I reread your post and see what you are saying. I appreciate the heads up. -
I am pretty sure it doesn't look like quite as you remember it

Just in one year it changed a lot, bunch of companies setting up yards in town, multiple smaller services companies coming and going as well.
Mertzon, Barnhart, Sterling City got plenty HIRING signs.
As Jon said some of the Majors have a 'REALLY' long hiring process - up to a month.flightwatch Thanks this. -
Fine$$$$$$$$ If you take a full time job then you are expected to get a state license. You come in for a week doing paving or some other quick job you are OK. Your home is in TX if you spend the majority of your time here. Or at least that's what they say.

I don't have a lot of knowledge on your ticket situation. I can say that there is a lot of work, especially in Big Lake, an hour from San Angelo. I'm guessing, but as badly as drivers are needed, if you otherwise have some experience and all else on your record is good, I think you can find a company who will over-look your lane tickets. In the smaller companies this sometimes is more of what their insurance company says, not what they want to do. Others look at what it will do to the over-all company safety rating. If you have hazmat and tanker, that may help. Good luck with it!

You may want to tell the complete truth and pay the fines to AVOID FALSIFICATION CHARGES by the state of Texas. You do NOT want to run the risk of going to prison.
God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
