Starting out and working 48 70 hour weeks you'd gross around $106k for the year. That's not including bonues, safety pay, etc.
-
Are those companies you mention the best route to get those numbers?
-
I remember when I wanted to start in the Bakken =D! The only thing that worries me is that -10 weather. I bet bleeding that air in -10 makes it an interesting pull on that cord...
-
Yes sir. If I was laid off on my drilling job I'd go full time with one of those outfits.
-
-10 feels just like +10 unless the wind is blowing or you have exposed skin.
-
Yes but important to remember it cost approximately $75/bbl to be profitable in the Bakken. If oil dropped below that rigs would be stacked quickly.
-
Out of curiousity, where did you get this number? I ask because the "boom" started in North Dakota a few years back when oil was less than $45/barrel and they were drilling and hauling like crazy then.
-
RigZone, ND department of mineral resources, world oil news, etc.
-
I just did some research and it looks like they are trying different methods and they are paying off. The break even point has dropped to around 40 dollars a barrel. Still plenty of profit in the Bakken and the drilling continues strong
pyrosparks911, tallmama and Driver5 Thank this.
