Driver was employed by B-Line. RIP, driver.
Peculiar thing is, so far the investigation has no idea why he hit a guardrail causing him to overturn or why the truck/load (news hasn't specified which) caught fire before the crash. I drive this road often. It's a two-lane country road and speeding is often a problem not necessarily with truckers but four-wheelers whipping around the truck to pass.

Prayers sent for the family.

I guess it wasn't a good week for tanker drivers. This one happened up here in NY last week. Not sure what company it was.

Where did you get the idea it caught fire before the crash? I had to enable my dang Flash plug-in to watch the video, nothing.
According to the FHWA FARS database, the most common single-vehicle crash circumstances are; while going straight on a clear, dry road in daylight conditions the vehicle leaves the roadway for no apparent reason.
Trucking's the greatest! Any activity where a moment's inattention at the wrong moment can lead to death and/or injury should be classified as "unskilled labor".900,000-tons-of-steel Thanks this. -
Witness said he just drove off the road. Maybe medical.
RIP driver. -
There was another this morning near Dallas, TX on hwy 30 that involved 6 rigs and 8 four-wheelers. Very messy that one....No deaths though so far reported.

From http://www.theledger.com/article/20...-Dies-After-Tanker-Explosion-in-Bowling-Green
"Officials said the driver was traveling in a B Line Transport truck carrying 7,200 gallons of unleaded gas and 1,300 gallons of premium gas when it caught fire around 2:05 p.m. in the area of State Road 62 and Moye Road."
Other media reports indicate much the same. -
So you're saying all truck drivers are "Unskilled Labor"?
I believe your criteria for "unskilled labor" is severely flawed.
I guess in your eyes, aircraft pilots, as well as thousands of occupations requiring specialized training & skills... are also "unskilled labor".
Very sad and unexplained. My prayers go out to the family.
RIP Driver. -
I'm thinking it was said in sarcasm mode. Either that or he meant "skilled labor." We all know the Department of Labor has for all too long incorrectly classified the industry and jobs we do as unskilled labor. In a previous career my work entailed supervising and correcting the work of an entire staff in addition to my own workload and a plethora of other duties. While the workload brought tons of stress I consider my current job as a tanker driver much more "skilled" than what I did previously. I've pretty much maintained that darn near anyone can go to school and become educated but not everyone can be a truck driver.KW Cajun Thanks this.
