id like to hear that answer also. it took me applying to 5 different dcs all over the country to even get an interview and I have 17 years experience never had an accident or a ticket. at one dc in florida I was number 292 on the list to be called for 5 spots. another dc I was number 215 so id say theres quite a few people out there that would disagree. by the way meaning the guys above me on the call list had more experience than me that's where 17 years put me on the list.
walmart is the best driving job i've ever had

You know I have been thinking about starting a......dare I say it.....Walmart bashing/political thread just so I can stop looking at it on this one. Hey maybe it will be a 5 star thread like my other one!
Any takers? lol
BTW just to KEEP on topic, I love working for Wal~mart Transportation LLC.! Quit gripe'n about store problems and the company as a whole. We provide a service to our customer and our customers are the stores. -

Matt,
While I agree this is supposed to be a happy thread, sometimes the only way to change another person's viewpoint is to show them the flaw in their beliefs. -
Then why is it in a thread about Walmart Transportation??
We drive for Walmart Transportation. Fact. Walmart Transportation is one of the best truck driving jobs out there. Fact. Driving for Walmart Transportation is not the job for everyone. Fact. It is very hard to get in, and the list of those trying, is long. Fact.
Nowhere in any of those facts, do the stores come up.
BTW, my neighbor has worked for Walmart for many years. She worked her way up, and is a manager. Yes, it is hard work, but she has no complaints, and will retire from there. This is a success story, and is what many can achieve with effort. The same as with any other entry level job.
Anyway, I got my same start day/time on realignment.................... Woohoo !!!TomOfTx and CondoCruiser Thank this. -
Right on Rick! According to Walmart, about 75% of their managers started from the bottom and worked hard to rise to their management position. This is no different than us working hard & having an excellent work history to come to the Private Fleet. Too many want to start at the top.
Congrats on keeping your start day. Realignment happens next month in Sealy. -

the thread is about driving.... we all know the horror stories of "forced" employment at stores.
Extreme4x4, CondoCruiser and drozzer69 Thank this. -
this is very true! my cousin started with walmart right out of high school unloading trucks in the back. just an entry level position but after a lot of hard work and dedication he now manages a super center. he went from entry level to making 120,000 a year.
drozzer69 and Space Man Spiff Thank this. -
NYVET, , when transfer time rolls around, I bet you will put in. If you DC outta Marcy, you will still get some of that action. LI and Jersey is decent enough. You are right about the weather, way better for driving near Toby, Jersey, etc. Go to Marcy and be a doubles alternate and run Canada. $$$$
