Well I'm just saying if it were me, I'd rather sit home looking for some other employment than be sitting in the big house for no telling how many years, because I ended up killing a family of four that were innocently rolling down the road. Even if that doesn't happen, how long will your CDL remain intact or clean if you're in constant death traps.
There is a way DOT could crack down on them, without you being pegged as the complainant. Think about it.
I just get tired of ppl concerned only for themselves, and not think about the serious risk/effect it can have on others. jmo
should i find a new job?

So what do i do just call a dot officer and set it up for him to pull me over for a full inspection? Wont i vet a ticket as well?

Where exactly are these trucks located? If they are being driven down the road in those conditions I want to stay as far away as possible. Sounds like the owners are more worried about stuffing their pockets than anything else.

Highway 40 uintah basin in utah lol

Do you even know what a pretrip is?What's the point when you still drive the crap.Kind of defeating the purpose aren't you? From now on just get in and drive like the majority does.Pretrip is suppose to be the law but ppl take it as more of a suggestion.Anyone who knowingly drives crap is just as much to blame as the boss is and that is you.The questions you asked in your first post tells me you need to go back to school.

Every driver at this company are as much to blame as this boss is.Money is first and foremost in this industry no matter how many laws there are but yet we blame FMCSA This is the reason why every driver, every carrier in our country suffer because of companies and drivers like this one.

No need to get mad at me im just trying to support my family and the trucks are mostly on lease roads out of the 200 miles a day i drive 30 of them on pavement. Meh screw it imma just take what i can get the condensate job is only a couple days a week otr. But realize whether i quit or not there are about 30 companies here and only about 10 of them have good equipment and they want 2 years exp plus some want 5 years mostly because of the idiot drivers who go 50mph on dirt and tear the trucks up

I don't care what roads you drive on,the point is YOU DO NOT leave the lot with bad equipment. This guy is making good money otherwise he wouldn't be in business. No reason why he can't invest some of that money to fix the trks.Right now there are thousands of drivers on the road with crap just hoping they make it to their destination ontime and safe. You asked the forum if you should find a job.why ask us,JUST DO IT.You know you should otherwise you wouldn't have even asked.I apologize for getting tiffy.I should have realized you being a newby plays a part in this. One day though this is all going to come back and haunt you if you continue to drive for this unsafe company. Is it really worth risking your CDL?There has to be companies out there in this type of driving that will take you with your little exp.
CondoCruiser, oney1 and KW Cajun Thank this. -
First off, You should NEVER drive truck with those problems. All are DOT issues and you could be in violation if you get pulled over. If you get in to an accident and kill someone you could even face criminal negligence charges for driving a truck you knew was not DOT legal. I would quit asap and report the company to DOT. If they tell you to drive or your fired, let them fire you. Their actions are totally illegal. Let them know the equipment is not legal and dont drive untill they make it right. I'm not to concerned about the 15 min pay thing, because depending on rate you may still make good money although it does sound sketchy. I am concerned about you driving unsafe equipment and wrecking your driving record.

ok ty i wasnt sure if all of it was against dot regs i was called lazy because i refused to drive 3 of these trucks due to other simular issues and all 3 times i was sent home so i began to think i was wrong when i decided they were unsafe. For example one truck just got back to the yard acter working all day so i decided to do a quik pretrip and adjust the brakes because they werent working very well, i didnt know the glad hands were installed upside down and the service hose falls off everytime you turn, but when i climbed under the truck the u joint was eating into the yoke it was so wore out so i turned that truck down. Same truck the pass side mirror bracket was held on with one bolt the switch for the diff lock leaked air so bad it was unusable, and the heater didnt work btw it was -5 degrees that night. Anyway all they fixed was the driveline and sent me back out in that truck 3 days later and after my first load the service line fell off again and i couldnt slow down verywell so i took the truck back to the yard and parked it and was in trouble because i didnt put the line back on and keep driving. Were all of these violations as well? Its hard to tell what exactly will put a truck out of service because none will tell me and i cant find a complete list anywhere
