Quick up date... Leaving the yard with a load for the 1st time without instructors or trainers and realizing you are own your own is a weird feeling. Got a load going home to Portland on Thurs.
1st there was a problem with the electrical connectors to the trailer wedge a little cardboard in the connector bam fixed. Wakeup next morning do a PT and one of the trailer tires is bulging and has a couple of flat spots. Get that fixed in South Bend. drive 594 mi. to PA and wake up to snow and proceed to drive 430 mi on the edge of the storm. 1st time driving truck in snow. I just went slow and steady but made it home and passed out. dropping the load on Mon. 20 min from home then heading out for a week till Christmas. '
I'm in truck 1230 it's a beast with 1.2 million on the odometer... Merry Christmas to all. be safe!!!Weeble Kneeble and crazw Thank this. -
Hey Weeble,
Where your from Maine, I wondered if you went to NTI? And where in Maine you call home? -
Home is Durham but now I love in Portland, OR. No NTI for me, I'm a ProDriver. Great program, highly recommended.
-
So what's going on with the Wolding drivers? This thread has went dead. Did everyone else leave after Weeble moved West?
-
I know Bram is still there and enjoying it as far as I know. Still the best company I've driven for.

I have been solo for about a month and my biggest advice to newbies is wait till spring winter stinks...
All of my struggles have been winter related.
I Still like Wolding my 1st truck is an 03 freight Shaker with 1.2 million but it runs well and just minor issues. Going for a PM next week. Money is not great in the beginning takes a little while to start getting decent checks but the Holidays really slowed me down.
The reality of being on your own is tough. Long days, Bad weather, Rude drivers, Traffic sucks. driving at night in bad weather is stressful when your new. backing into tough spots when your new is another big stress. But I hear from others suck it up and stay with it. Have a short memory not if you make a mistake when you do.
Enjoy the things you do well and build off them. Getting better every day and really enjoy the job 75% of the time. Being away from my family is the hardest. Really thinking about switching to regional soon. -
In flagstaff, az waiting for a load. Enjoyed the break from winter. Was caught up in effingham, il winter mess last weekend. Ready to get moving again.

Thanks Weeble, just wondered, got my CDL from NTI, drove for a while, live in Juneau Alaska now. Didn't know pro trucker was located in Maine.
