And that's a good thing? I know forklift drivers that make more than that and they don't even know what a trucking school is.
Considering the time you have to spend away from home and the immense liability dropped on your shoulders their pay is no where near "adequate". That's the main reason why companies like Prime are revolving doors. Then you have to lease-flatbed-team-train and run 57mph to make "decent" money.
And guys will still defend this, come on man...
And by the way, I hope this serves as a precedent for future use against bottom feeders.
OSHA orders New Prime Inc. to pay 'blacklisted' driver more than $100,000

It's reasonable for a company driver at your experience level.
-
reading this makes me question whether i want to drive for a living.
-
Avoid the bottom feeder training companies,
and you'll do OK.
-
there are plenty of recommendations to avoid the bottom feeder entry level trucking companies. But no one ever says here are the trucking companies to look for. I know to avoid Steven's Transport, Werner, PAM, Prime .... Can anyone make any recommendations? I am a combat vet (Iraq) Air Borne Ranger College Degree Lost my job and just went through a divorce. I need a job P.s. would anyone like to adopt a dog. I don't think I will be able to keep a dog starting over as truck driver

Don't flush a good opportunity on the advise of someone who is just out to poison good starting carriers. Stevens and Prime are probably two of the best places to start. If you want to keep your dog, definitely look into Prime. The lawsuit that is the subject of this post probably would have never even been considered if the plaintiff had only communicated with the company.
How long do you allow $200,000 worth of equipment to sit in limbo, without even knowing if it is safe? Many trucking firms stencil, "Please call xxx-xxx-xxxx if this equipment hasn't moved in 24 hours," on their tractors and trailers. Prime allowed this situation to go on for 4 weeks (if I'm reading the complaint correctly) before doing anything. Simply returning a phone call would have avoided the entire situation. -
thank you very much

Notice the prime cheerleading squad is out to claim the prime NEVER does anything wrong.... They've been sued for stealing escrow accounts, blacklisting(twice), god knows how many wrecks(3 in Maine within a week, one of them hit a state trooper after going too fast on ice, etc. glad I corrected a major mistake and got out of that outfit lol. I guess now the secret of the loyal lease ops has been exposed: keep those recruitment bonus checks coming!!

You're gone, eh? It doesn't fit everybody, and I'll bet wherever you went back to doesn't fit everybody either. There were dozens of folks who couldn't deal with the military... and most folks have a high regard for them.
Sure they do... generally they try to do the right thing. Most of the screw-ups come from mistakes made by individuals.
OOIDA sued every carrier they could find over that. The lawsuit against Prime was dismissed by the court with prejudice.
Is that all???
I heard two... got a reference for that last one about the state trooper?
Only get one, and it's more trouble than it's worth.Last edited: Jan 15, 2014
