Used Truck prices

All of the exporting that happened in 08-10, on top of very little new production, has screwed up the used market to this day, as I'm sure you're aware. Every time I go look at a $60k 5-6 year old truck that in reality has an undesirable engine in it, ends up with me looking at new trucks or gliders again. That would mean I'd have to work too hard though and not be able to enjoy my ample home time. It's a quandary I've been dealing with for the last two years. I agree with Bill that pricing is coming down, but nowhere near where it should be, IMO.

 

i'm trying to sell my 07 Kenworth T2000 with a 435hp C15 for 23k. that's cheaper than anything i've seen on the big internet used truck sites, even forbthe exact same truck with higher mileage. i don't understand why someone hasn't pounced on it yet

 

Please don't take any offense, but it's a T2000. Not a very desirable truck. To make things worse, you can buy one in CA for well under $15k all day long.

 

They actually are on CL. I've seen them there fairly regular up until the end of the year. I haven't been looking much lately since I don't think I'm going to buy a truck anymore. Change of plans.

 

why's that? C15 is a good engine isn't it? is it because they're fiberglass instead of a big macho hunk of steel? i don't doubt what you're saying, but still, i've never seen one listed for under 25k
