I drove a gas tanker in the mountains of Colorado for a couple of weeks. And you can easily start out making 60 or even 70 thousand a year to start. Had a brand new fast truck.... but thought to myself every time I was driving..... holy freakin mackerel, I've got 8000 gallons of gas behind me. I couldn't quit fast enough.

Sorry to hear that. You really need to hire a private eye. Have him check the dog's Facebook page. I think he's bragging and he thinks the snoring is cute.

Exactly...they are/were not the norm....even back when I started with them...they were in Greensboro , NC...there at the time the best trucking jobs to have in that area were UPS , GSF , and a company called Distron ( they delivered to Burger Kings exclusively back then)...had app's at all of them and GSF was the 1st to open the door for me. I walked through that door and never looked back...spent right at 33 years with those folks...shoot as much as I talk about them on this forum , I should be getting residual/recruiter pay...LOL I can't agree with you more though on the fact that really good trucking jobs are like the proverbial "Holy Grail"...I was very fortunate to get and KEEP that job...

Even LTL can be hard work. Not every delivery is to a dock. You have "inside deliveries" sometimes which means a hand truck going inside an office bldg, while double parked in downtown wherever. You also make pick-ups as you make your deliveries thru out the day. Which means constantly moving freight around with-in the trailer. Sometimes YOU have to break down the inbound freight and sort it before YOU load it and deliver it. It's called "combination dock/driver". Same pay. Then just when you think the days over and it's Miller time, he-he-he, bossman says we missed this pallet which needs to go NOW, which means you get to play around in afternoon traffic.
