Wow... What a way to start a run... (Said sarcastically)

We get to UNFI to pick up our preloaded trailer... Paper (BOL) is in the box, but the trailer isn't there. Call dispatch... Our trailer is in WY!! We grab the trailer he SHOULD have grabbed and meet him in SLC to swap trailers... Meaning we got to play with drag chains over Donner... And of course, by the time we get them applied, chain controls were lifted! Then heading out of SLC, we choose to head down to 70, because of the high winds on 80 and the on again off again of the road closures. So on US 6 (mm 215) there is a passing lane... Right At the top of the pass... Packed snow and blowing snow with some fresh stuff thrown in... Lady goes to pass us, and instead rear ends us... She has to be towed. THANKFULLY no injuries!! So now we have the delay of the mislaid trailer, the private inspection of the ICC bumper (which worked REALLY well), viewing a State Trooper in person, and then we hit chain controls in the Rockies on 70.

Now this was a good part... Except for the slow speed we had to go for chains... We finally got to use our new chains. Man are they nice!! Klingon did get out to ensure both axles deployed, but that took less than a minute! Off we rolled again! There was one place we pulled over (Buddy had to pee... And that dog can be a pest when he has to go!) and had no problem pulling by other trucks while pushing through almost 6" of fresh snow... Then also we had to come to a complete stop before the tunnel (hazmat runs) and was able to get moving again with no slippage... $$ well spent!!

So now if we don't need to fuel, or take 15 minutes to do PTIs when swapping drivers or those nasty 30 minute breaks... We would JUST make our appt time... So I guess we are going to be late... But on the other hand, the weather is now beautiful (for KS/MO) and we are rolling... I'll take it :)

Really glad to hear your happiness with the "On Spots"
Only down side I have ever heard was Ca. requires
additional chains sometimes. Safe running to ya.

Yep, drag chains on the trailer... But only having to toss one set compared to three!!! NICE!!

What you ought to do Paula is get a set of autosocks for the trailer. Go on in about two minutes and weigh five pounds. California approved (and Colorado, Oregon, Washington)

Already been on their website... Been checking them out!! Would need two sets though... Regular and SS. Never know which will be on the trailers.

We would love to bump into you guys again... Got a bunch of questions for you ;)

Thanks for keeping this post current. I for one really enjoy seeing what is happening with you guys. I also like the way you toss a few hwy numbers in so I can vicariously follow along.
I wish you good times, good income, and zero negative things for the New Year.

    Lady K Thanks this.

We are always just a phone call away. We are getting pretty lazy with the o/o thing. You can find us home in Chattanooga a little too often.

    Lady K Thanks this.

Now that you (company) has been consumed and your time frame is near, any
    plans in progress ?

First step is we are planning on purchasing Matilda... We have been tossing ideas around, but plan on staying with Central until we figure out if we are leaving and where/what we are doing... Luckily we are on a dedicated loop, so the 'consumption' hasn't effected us as much as others. The only thing that would effect us is if we (Central) lost the account... And that is a possibility if the standards aren't kept.
