No, I only have used Fla based carriers headed home at that rate. If I bid more than 2000 for the shipment then I am told they have somebody for less. The shipper has other options for his Florida freight. I don't know what the FL carriers get coming north but I would imagine around 2 to 2.50 a mile. So for them at 2.50 plus the 1.80 total= 4.30 or 2.15 net not knowing any deadhead miles encountered. MC# 109382
Warning! Stay away from Florida.

bruceb Thanks this. -
Is your truck stop still open? When I was running groceries in the Northeast out of Harrisburg, if the lights were flashing on 81, you could find me on 22.

LMAO
I remember in the real olden days when produce outta the house paid so well to the Point we DEADHEADED home to fl-- -
No the truckstop is closed since traffic is now all on 81.
-
Next time I'm up that way, maybe I'll dodge the coops for fun and grab some food at Esther's
-
Donmoyer's used to own a restaurant at their terminal but it like the truck stop is closed. Across the street is an ok place to grub called the Farmer's Wife.

No real reason to--if 81 closed--first exit off 78 east make a right--and Esthers is right around the corner--LOL

Only ever had one load to Florida. Load of LED signs from Daktronics going to a high school in Clearwater (which is also the adoptive home of that Scientology cult). Picked up barrels of honey going out of there, then topped that load off with honey comb coming out of Georgia. Not terrible. Got to stop by my old haunt in North Carolina for the night, although I couldn't stay... if I'd left the truck sitting there for a day, the effect on that comb would've been disastrous, especially under those black tarps. This load went to New Jersey, so I deadheaded out of that state, but I didn't have to go terribly far for my next load.
