Keep it coming, I'm enjoying reading about how it goes for the lease driver at ACT.
I went through the rush orientation just after New Years and got one of the new Freightliner Cascadia Evolution's. The wind has been killing my fuel economy tho. Even us company drivers have to turn in great fuel economy or suffer a pay cut it seems. They say it is a new program but I get the impression it is not as new as implied. I really like the truck tho.
Have to pick up at Lowes in Rockford at 5 AM for del in mt. Vernon Il at 1700. I have a laundry list of new truck problems that started piling up the day after I left KC. I have told Mike and told Jarred repeatedly I need to get the truck in the shop but no joy as of yet. i think i am going to have to put my foot down tho. One of the problems is the drivers seat constantly loses air and has to be readjusted minute by minute. One of the other problems almost saw me locked out of the truck at the consignee today. When I say locked out, I mean the key will not operate the door locks sometimes. Other problems include air leaks. The list is long.
Keep em coming Jaguar and stay safe. What are you getting for fuel mileage anyway?

I'm only getting 6.5 mpg. .I sat and talked with Mike today (again).. we went through my shift points/rpm.. they are still to high. .I have to re learn how to drive the truck. .1500-1600 rpm shift just doesn't cut it anymore. .
That load to mt vernon blows. . To much time to little miles. .
I received a 3 choice load. . One going to Lawton. .NO! One to Florence SC 1098 miles from St Jo.. one 500 from St Jo..
I originally took the SC load but called real quick and asked for the 3rd load from St Jo to Sharon Tn.. less miles but picks up sooner and delivers sooner. . Hazmat but who cares. . (I like having my hazmat endorsement. . Let's people know I'm not a criminal)..
I'm sure they will work you back to the yard. . It's not a safety issue so why take the down time? -
Having to constantly readjust your butt off the floor in the snow every minute so you can control the truck is a bit of a safety issue to me. LOL. I am getting used to it tho. Yeah this load sucks and this coming off another low mile too much time load. Not impressed with the weekly mileage so far.
I am averaging 6.9 to 7.4 in the wind. This truck has a turbo boost gauge and a handy dandy fuel monitor with an annoying yellow light that glows when your instant economy goes in the toilet, so it glows constantly when accelerating, or heavy or the wind is blowing. Haha. -
That dang light would be burnt out in my truck by now. . Seems I have a head wind No matter what direction I go. .

So is ACT moving to the EVO for lease purchase drivers too?

ACT runs the new trucks with company drivers. .I have no idea how many miles until they are put in the lease side. . I've talked to one driver that got into a lease truck with as little as 18, 000 miles on it. .
I believe most have at least 100k on them. . So it will be awhile before we see the 680's or the freightliner put out as lease. -
I'm sitting in Hurricane Mills TN..I haven't been on here in a few days, ever since I had the minor break down it seems I've fell out of the groove.
I can't seem to get motivated. . The loads are crap, piddly 400 mile loads that are killing me because of the electronic logs. . My clock starts in the morning to make my delivery but the load time puts me about 60 miles away and outside my drive time. . So I have to shut down and the process starts all over again.
If someone asked me, I'd tell them that I was tired. . I'm not physically tired (How can I be) I'm frustrated, And that's making me mentally tired.
I am glad to be south of all the storms. .I came through Cincinnati earlier today, it was freezing rain. . I'm not even going to describe how the traffic was. . I'm sure you can imagine.
I guess the only way to pull myself out of this funk is to either increase my pay check or take a few days off. (Which does nothing for my pay check) Or I'm extremely dehydrated. . Sometimes I get like this when I don't drink enough water.
I don't know. .I guess it can't be peaches and cream everyday. -
I hear ya, but remember it's the time of year for slow piddly freight. I am at Freightliner waiting for the hotel shuttle. Always remember, it can always be worse. Murphy was an optimist.
