Jennies Diner - Ronks, PA

I have been there several times. Food and service was great.

 

Ah Jennies! I grew up less than 10 miles from there. They have been around for ever. I haven't eaten there since HS. I can give you a 35 year old review.

We use to eat breakfast there on occasion it was good from what I remember. They are known for their huge pancakes. That place was my first interaction with truck drivers and got me thinking about life on the road.

My mom use to work at a restaurant down the road from there and we always went there for free food.

When I was truckin' I was too close to my mother's house to stop anywhere else. I was going for home cooked food.

If they have Chicken Corn soup give that a try. That's one of my favorite Pennsylvania Dutch foods if it's made right. That and Shoe-Fly pie. From what I remember they are more of a typical American greasy spoon menu.

 

I can't remember trying that when I was a kid but it sounds like something I'd like to try now.

 

I eat there quite often when I am crossing on US 30. Food is good, and they give you a ton of it...

 

That's it but that one looks like too much syrup mixture. The good ones the top third is more dry crumbs. I think I'll make that tomorrow! I haven't had one in 10 years or better. They are good!

Been at Jenny's Dinner years ago when I would ride with my Uncle hauling steel in his Western Star during summer vacation. There chicken corn chowder is to die for. Come to think of it everything I had there was good.

 

Its not pennies anymore, it closed better or remodel for a while, now open again at route 30 diner. Food is even better than before
