Hey everyone! Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm actually the Proud Trucker Wife. My hubs started driving just over a year ago. He's also in the National Guard. We have a modern day Yours, Mine & Ours family(5 for me, 1 for him & 1 together). We are a crazy, fun & adventurous bunch. I actually came across this forum when I was looking for a better company for hubs. REALLY wish we would have found you all so much sooner. It would have saved us A LOT of trouble. We have learned the hard way that some civilian truck companies don't play well with the National Guard schedules.
After the recent bs he's been getting from his current company, he's looking into finding an honest, worthwhile trucking company. I'm pretty sure honest is a little hard to come by but if they will actually PAY him & allow us to provide for our family, we'll be happy!![]()
We have met some GREAT drivers and their families along our journey and are very grateful for our new found family.
SOO Glad I Found This Forum!

I as well am in the National Guard (13 years)...this is officially my 2nd post. I am not a driver, I am a freight agent.
I understand the juggle with the Guard schedule and a civvy job, it can su^% sometimes. -
Welcome to the forum...
Not sure what exactly his company is doing but, they may not know the law in regards to the National Guard. Like I said in the other thread, tell Comrade to stand his ground, learn the law, and let them know about it and how he stands. Once you/he and the company know the law, everything will fall right in place, at least it did for me, once I read the law and informed them how it works and how I stood. -
Thanks for the welcome. I'm excited to be here and learn as much as I can. Hubs had his CO(commanding officer) call his dispatch and let them know about his drill and that it's not a choice. His dispatch just doesn't care. He acts as if it's a big inconvenience, which I'm sure it is to juggle loads around. However, it's the way it goes.
Swampthing - SAHM is Stay At Home Mom. Sorry about that. I get so used to posting the acronym. Loltruckon Thanks this. -
