If you run excavator im hoping your a cat control operator, Im currently from Victoria and the controls used on the Island seem to be John deer configuration, most machines do have the switch. My suggestions is leave the »Island and then leave BC. JMO I have heard Stryker and Klaussen or possibilities..Do you have your class 1? Good luck..

 

The island has dried up, ive been in the construction industry for 15 years and never seen it as quiet as recent. Yes Cat controls and class 1 driver but don't currently have TDG, ive heard many places will put you through required tickets?

 

If your into job security steer clear of the bouchier group. Seriously. Worst outfit in the Mac. Friend worked there till he seen what it was all about. Moved to nacg as soon as he could.

Qualifications:
• Must be a Licensed/Journeyman Heavy Duty mechanic (4th year will be considered)
• Experience on variety of on-highway vehicles (truck and transport)
• Capable of working in a physically demanding work environment including working outside in the field as required. This position is also required to work overtime, flexible hours and weekends.
• Demonstrate a high attention to detail, be extremely organized and have the ability to multi-task
• CVIP certification an asset
• Clean drivers abstract and valid driver’s license (no GDL)
• Successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

Responsibilities:
• Maintenance, repair, trouble shooting and overhaul on-highway vehicles
• Ensuring that all equipment is continually maintained at the highest standards, and in a timely manner, resulting in proper functionality
• Perform quality checks according to procedure
• Perform preventative, planned & unplanned maintenance, repair, overhaul, trouble shoot and test mechanical & electronic equipment according to company standards
• Promote safety awareness, follow policies & procedures on quality, health, safety & environment

We are currently recruiting for a Project Coordinator who is innovative and wants to work for a progressive organization.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
• Work closely with and assist the Division Manager and Superintendent, where applicable, in the day to day duties of a project’s administration.
• Monitor field work, including contract work, to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, specifications and codes.
• Conduct quality control activities in accordance with instructions, inspection programs, using specified equipment.
• Act as liaison with subcontractors in expediting drawings and related information.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date logs (Vendor/Subcontractor, Purchase, Owner etc.), track responses and advise the Division Manager and Superintendent of the status of any changes
• Understand and perform document control functions in accordance with on-site policy and procedures, transmitting and tracking of submittals, compose agreements, and maintain project expediting list.
• Attend project coordination and owner/contractor/architect/engineer meetings as requested or required.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.


Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent combinations of technical training plus a minimum of two years construction experience.
• Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings and specifications, building materials, and required standards applicable to discipline.
• Proficiency in organizations computer systems and software, including Civil 3D, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project. Build & Bid to Win knowledge an asset.
• Ability to assume responsibility.
• Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to represent the company and project team in a professional manner to the client, related project staff and the community.
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as being a self starter
• Excellent facilitation, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
• Must display a continuous regard to safety

Just my own "bit". I'll be looking for a class 1 driver who has at least 3 years of fluid hauling experience at the end of February, beginning of March.
It doesnt need to be oilfield experience.
