    Hey,
I don't know if this is the right place to post this question but here goes.
Im a lowbed driver and have been for just about 2 years and the company I work for is buying me a new truck! The thing is they want to know what I want. After going to all the dealerships, Im more confused than when I started. Im looking for some recommendations on what I should get and why. Cost is, as always, a factor but not the most important one.

    Thanks

Smooth ride, great look, very reliable. It just feels right when you drive it. Engine type doesnt matter.

Engine type doesn't matter?????? The planet I'm from makes a big difference. The least problem with Regen today I hate to say it but it's Detroit. Cummins, Cat, Paccar is crap. Go for Western Star and Detroit.

    Sarabeara Thanks this.

Western star is a good working horse no doubt but it is noisy. Peterbilt is pleasure to drive. drive like a king and don't be ashamed of yourself.)

Any Paccar and cummins product is cheap made and crap! plus you pay the most(fuel/repairs/purchase price) compare that towards any other brand, and anyone with some brains and a calculator will see the difference.

That's why I suggested Detroit Power and a WS instead of Freightshaker. We have new Macks, KW with Cummins and Paccar. Go with Detroit.

I have a 2013 and 2014 PETERBILT. And I'll tell you, BOTH have had their problems! The EPA standards are different between those years, and my 2014 388 is the biggest piece of crap I ever purchased! I just purchased a Volvo and although I miss the conventional look of my Pete's, I won't be giving them a third chance! Long gone are the days that "Class Pays"! Listen to Prairie Boys advice!

While it's a little early in the year to award the "Dumbest Post of the Year," this is definitely a top-five nominee. "Engine type doesn't matter." Say what?! Engine type matters... more than any other single component. Saying it doesn't matter is like saying location doesn't matter in real estate. Listen to the people who spec, buy, operate, own and pay the repair bills, like Sara and Prairie Boy.

I'll grant you that engine choice is likely less important to the OP than an owner, but if the truck is spending a significant amount of time in the shop then the OP likely isn't making money either.
