I know once you hit the big time and become an owner operator, this is something a driver will wind up doing several times in your career.
Done wrong removing vinyl can be very tedious and stressful and it can really mess up your paint.
That being said having a sign shop remove the signs for you can also be expensive, so knowing how to properly remove them thanks to my buddy who owns a sign shop, I made this video to show you all how remove vinyl signs from your truck.
In this video I remove cheap gold metal flake vinyl which is some of the worst to remove but as you will see I am able to remove it with ease.
I hope you find this helpful, and please do rate comment and subscribe.

You can do that or use a blow torch. Still helpful and informative.

You can also use a 3M Stripe Off Wheel. Cost about $20, but will not damage your paint in anyway. It will take off all the glue, but in case some is left, I use mineral spirits on a rag to clean everything off.
There are cheaper ones, but they don't last as long as the 3M.Mr Ed Thanks this. -
Yeah they call those an eraser wheel. Good product, but you have to have power tools to use it.
-
WD-40 also works real good with a razor blade.

PB blaster decal and sticker removal takes that glue residue rite off and NEVER use a razor blade
SHO-TYME Thanks this. -
they sell the plastic razor blades that will not damage paint. i have my decals on my sleeper windows along with my ifta stickers. i do not like decals on the paint, especially after a few years it leaves shadows in the paint, looks tacky in my opinion. the eraser wheels work great but be sure you clean any contaminates off the surrounding area so clear coat doesn't get damaged.

hair dryer. warm up and use ur fingers, no damage to the clear coat.

I had to borrow an extension cord and a receiver's commercial heat gun (blow dryer on steroids) to remove placards once when it was about 15 degrees F. It was not easy still, but without any heat it was virtually impossible.
Cold bad, heat good in terms of removing self-adhesive letters and labels from painted metal. Use your trailer mounted placard signs if you have them and if they meet the requirements before you stick self-adhesive placards on during a severe cold spell.gpsman Thanks this. -
Hairdryer and WD40
Maybe I'll make a youtube video to show how I wipe my butt for those who don't know how?
That actually looks like UTILITY KNIFE BLADES he is using in the video, not RAZOR BLADES.
