Hello all on this cold morning!
Ok I am looking to make the switch to O/O. Now I have been a company driver for 12 years mainly in the NE. I work for a good company now, pays well and screws you sometimes, we all know the feeling. I live in NEPA and fracking is very large and always growing in my area. I was seeing that Bruce Oakley trucking is hiring O/O to pull water, bulk and belly dumps, they state they are paying 3.50 a mile and more, they provide all the permits and base plates with no buy backs, they provide trailers and all maintenance. I did some figuring and even if I would to run 150 miles a day, it would be well worth it at that price for me.
I was figuring its either low mileage or loaded only. They are currently operating with Marcellas Shale.
I am not going to lease with them, just buy a decent used truck I see here at Ryder.
Any thoughts on working with Oakley? Hauling frac sand, what kind of specs should I find in a truck. Please put your 2 cents in, I will be talking to a recruiter in a few hours to get more info and can report back here.
