You can get a mount from the 131 cb shop over by 76th St truck stop. All you have to do is take out one of the mirror mount bolts. Cost me 10 bucks if I recall.
I'm on the coke account here in GR. If you bobtail in or have an empty trailer I don't see why you couldn't park it here. If you came in empty I wouldn't unhook cause your trailer will get used.

Thanks Dagwood. The 'don't unhook' is the problem; I use my truck to get home. I can afford to pay as little as I'm going to be home. As I move down this new road, I'm sure there are many twists and turns i will discover.

So here I am somewhere on I71 between Columbus and Cleveland Ohio, parked in a Burger King restaurant's lot. I would have run out of time about 3 minutes shy of the shipper. It's a Heartland load that has already failed and we tried to make a go of it, but at 60, things go REAL SLOW when you're in a rush. So I'll pick it up in 8 hours and boogey to the receiver in PB, very close to the GTI yard.

And then perhaps they will figure out how to cancel this ENG fault. It tried to start once this morning, didn't, and won't. Hopefully, it won't be too cold in here tonight. I need a "normal day" that ends with 10 hours of rest so I can begin setting this truck up. There's a way to go.

Now, sleep. It's been a very long day.

And there's this. The 'engine' light came on yesterday then disappeared after a couple of hours with no loss of performance. This morning, however, it came back with a vengeance. The 'engine' light and the 'check' light are both on and any incline of any length kills the performance down to about 25 mph. And the regen light just started flashing after I fueled at the T/A, where OTR told me to go. It's a long way to PB at 30 mph, so I don't mind. But it has been a rocky start.

And that doesn't count picking up a Heartland trailer at the shipper with no gear crank. So I spent two hours swapping the one on a GOOD Gordon trailer and back again. How does a driver let that happen?!?

Fortunately, while it has been miserable cold (below zero again when I woke up) there has been sun and no snow. So I'll eat and wait. And hope this is the end of it.

    Yeah. Right.

This is only the beginning.... these kinds of issues are happening all to often with these trucks...

I have had 4 different Cascadias..3 of them new... the one I have now is the best I ever had... the other 3 were p.o.s.

the problems are wide ranging... most revolve around the dpf system... some egr problems...

once the problems developed they never seem to be able to correct them...

since my wife and I were teaming during all this the solution was always to give us a new truck.

the one I have now is a 105.. series and performs great... the secret is... I never put the anti gel that gti issues in my truck..
I only use howes and have no problems whatsoever. . Over 280k on this truck...you would think gti would have figured that one out by now..

as far as trailer issues you will have many of them in the midwest... I believe it is due to drivers not wanting to waste time on their 14 getting them fixed and passing the buck to the next guy... not excusing it just explaining it...

    good luck DD ...

try to get a 105.. series truck when you get the chance.... I am sure one will be coming available before long

On our dedicated account we seem to always have 4 or 5 trucks down at any given time. Most all of our trucks burn oil. Mine takes almost a gallon a week. Our other issue is when we need work done we usually are shut down for a couple days. Trucks go to freightliner or Cummins and it takes Gordon forever to authorize repairs. I sat at freightliner for 10 hours waiting for the go ahead to fix the clutch break.
Hope they get your truck fixed or replaced in a hurry DD.

After sitting here for hours, the tech shows me this 5 page list of active and inactive faults. Geez. Most of them relate to DPF and EGR. The mother ship says change the fuel filter and they might sent me to the dealer to handle something they can't do here.

And I still don't have a gear handle. Fun.

Seems like you are starting out the same way greyhound did.....

on the other hand.. these problems are not unique to gordon....nobody can make a truck run right with these dpf systems..

hopefully LNG comes online soon and I believe a lot of issues will be resolved...
