Those are pretty neat, thanks for the link moosc. Sorry I missed you at Carlisle, but I wanted to get out of the snow ASAP.

And that brings us to today... last night I drug my brakes all the way into the truckstop, but after seeing that the truck stop had a sloped area with a nice big concrete curb, I backed my trailer all the way up until the tires bumped the curb, shut off the truck and left it in gear, set the brakes on the tractor but not the trailer. I'm glad I did, I watched several trucks trying to leave this morning with their brakes all locked up lol. Before I moved the tractor I locked in the power divider and let out the clutch slowly in low gear, didn't take too much but there was a definate "PANG" as the brakes broke free on it.

After that I cruised on down to Rolesville, NC for my pickup, got there, little slow to load but I wasn't in a hurry. Headed south to 95, stopped at a Petro along the way and got my truck washed at a Blue Beacon. I wasn't impressed with Blue Beacon, to be honest. For the about same price, there is a small independent truck wash at a TA near Greensboro NC, I want to say its called Piedmont Truck Wash, maybe... anyway, they do an awesome job, and actually get out brushes and scrub your entire truck, not just sit there with a wand and spray it. But, since I'm not headed by there anytime soon the Blue Beacon had to do.

Anyone ever noticed how Petro manages to have the nastiest smelling truckstops around? And I'm not talking about the lot, I'm talking about inside. No matter which one you walk into, you are immediately greeted by the fresh scent of "Men's Restroom". It's just gross.

Eventually after stopping another time for a sub, I made it down to Dollar Tree in Savannah for my delivery.

Left there and got to my super secret parking area that I always park at down here, and that was it for today.

Stupidly, I did not book a load that picked up tomorrow nearby and delivered close to home. Of course, by the time I got down here, it was off the board. So, I'm on the lookout for something now, not exactly sure what I want or where I want to go, but I wouldn't mind a day at home if there is something headed that way.

I'm happy to see that my truck still cleans up pretty good. I really like this color, although if I ever go the glider kit route my next truck will be a green color (kind of a bright green, like how bright Schneider orange is) so it looks like the stem/leaves of a pumpkin with the orange pumpkin trailer behind it LOL.

microsoft paint black box thing does the trick LOL.

I've always figured there is a chance of someone on the internet that just decides for whatever reason that they don't like me and call in reporting my truck for doing something they made up just to try to get me in trouble, so I block out all numbers in pictures.

I carry a pair of 4x4s on my deck for chocking my wheels so I don't end up with stuck brakes. ;)

Oh man I hear ya winter sucks. We were sitting at what was supposed to be a trailer pick up but they were running "late" so we had a choice of waiting or live load. We chose the later. And it was so hot we had to turn on the air conditioning. 81 in Mira Loma. Sorry couldn't resist. Anyway what happen to stay out of the northeast? Head out
to the southwest. Even Dallas is better than that. Loads into Cali don't pay well but once you get there the money us good. It all averages out.

Lol you have more to fear about a truck driving calling u on the hwy. I had a werner call in on me. Sitting still brakes set reading road atlas while hwy was closed. Such bs I now run a sunshade to keep prying eyes out of my cab

I will probably try to venture out that way this spring/summer - I'm still a little nervous about it because I know NOTHING of that area of the country or what kind of weather and loads to expect!

As for staying out of the Northeast, I'm trying my best!! lol. I don't mind doing PA if its in and out right off of 81, if I'm close enough that I can go through/to the OC for parking its fine by me. But unless I am running into trouble making my truck payments, I'll be ###### if I ever see NY/NJ/anything else to the north and east of that again haha.

We would be happy to be your guide. Just stay away from Denver unless you can book a load out. A gps and atlas and you will be just fine. And summer is the time to stay north. This is the time if year to head southwest. We really do have trouble getting back here but we really like Texas and Dallas OC has kind if become a second home. Hope you make it out west soon or at least to Dallas. 😄
