anyone leave these new trucks idle for 2 days straight? We got single digit lows all weekend here. Idled 14 hrs last night and had to regen when I got to the truck this morning. So wondering what happens if not there to do the regen. will the engine shut off? Don't want to get to work Monday with the truck off and froze.

My 2011 would only idle between 7 and 9 hours before it would shut down and I would have to do a regen. On the plus side it was like a built in alarm clock cause it would wake me up when it shut down.

I drove Cascadia. When shut down the truck, I turn on ParkSmart. That's what apus are for to reduce idle.

After around 10hrs the truck will regen by itself. I've been woken because it sounded like a jet engine taking off. If your in a day cab don't leave it running plug it in.

Parksmart is junk in winter all u have is standard bunk heater. And when it goes 10 or colder u should b idling any way.

Once it runs out of battery, needs engine power to charge.

He wants to idle the engine because of the cold. So his fuel doesn't gel among other things.

If its a day cab plug it in and make sure you have anti gel in your fuel and you'll be good to go. I like in Northeast PA and have been greeted with the same lovely weather and our trucks are fine with the above mentioned things listed.

Never could figure out a trick to make the Cascadias stay idling. On my Century I would take a CB antenna (a wooden dowel would work better, but I had an extra antenna for some reason) and vicegrips, run the cb antenna through the steering wheel against the throttle until it showed about 11% throttle application on the diagnostic output on the Qualcomm, then use the vicegrips to hold it in position. Worked perfectly LOL. Couldn't trick the Cascadia though.
