Ah. Maybe. It does run slow and struggles up hills. And I'm governed at 60.
-
Did they say anything about waiting 6 months before they would set your truck to go faster than 60 if you get good mpg. Just wondering because that is what they told me wasn't sure if it was because I have little proveable exp.
-
No, but I figured as much. And they want to see how I drive before unleashing the massive horses under the hood. Buuuut....at 6.5 mpg this week, I'm sure I won't get any rewards. Meh

Here I sit in a rest area 4 hours north of my Kentucky destination. The lousy road put me behind but the biggest factor was confusion about where to drop this P&G load. My DM said I was going to drop it in Indy but the weekend DM who assigned it said no, I was going to make the divers. Of course, my original acknowledgement of the preplan was based on getting it to Indy; taking it to Kentucky put it in jeopardy and then there was the weather...none going to the P&G pickup but crazy snow on the same road going south.
I sent the Mac 9 so maybe I won't get my first service failure since I'll be 2 hrs late for a 2200 delivery. Or maybe I will. I guess I will learn how understanding they are with a weekend DM, conflicting information and stinky weather at the same time.
and I will run out of my 70 a bit earlier than I originally planned. One day, actually. I hope the Sam's Club in Kentucky is nice! -
Im at the say what casino in mcdermit nv. Got tired so decided to call it a short day only 373 miles today. going to bed early so good night all.

Sitting in Sam's dock, Florence, KY. This blasted load finally is getting off! The issue I have now is 2:38 left on my 70 and the weekend crew on duty. I really need to return to the yard in Indy for some truck work and I have time for that...but will they see it, I wonder?
-
Still parked at the Sam's Club in Florence, KY, and no, they didn't see it. When I came in last night, the outside air temp was 40 degrees. Right now, in the clear sunny sky, it's 7 degrees. I think I am responsible for the cold air! And I am so sorry, America.
I awoke to a good trip to Muskogee, OK, but with only 2:38 left on my 70 and a shipper that's 144 miles away, I don't have the hours, so for the first time, I declined a load. Bri set my PTA for tomorrow so I'll see what coming.
Until then, I occupy a space next to two Heartland trucks next to five docks filled with 3 other Heartland trailers. I sense a pattern here... -
Since it's Monday, here are my cumulative numbers for the past week from the QC:
Total miles driven in truck: 2,740
Number of loads: 6
Miles driven per day: 409, 228, 473, 498, 480, 579, 10
That last one is the. Umber of miles I drove after midnight today. The total is 2,677, a difference of 63 miles. I'm sure not all those miles were paid and at this point, that's not an issue for me. I'm still learning The Way Of The Mighty Blue and I bet the routing was shorter in some cases and longer in others. It also doesn't help when two exits are closed because of construction and accidents and a family car won't let me get into the left lane to change freeways, so I have to drive past it and come back.
And I still have to figure out how to get money off my gas card or at least see how much is there. Th first two paychecks are put there so I should have one now.Last edited: Jan 27, 2014

And I was not correct. The reset switch I was looking at is on the inverter, not the APU. I've tried everything several times and the ENG fault continues. I think I have to go to ThermKing. That's going to be interesting because I can't seem to get near one of our yards long enough to do any maintenance of any kind...including fixing the window washer, which hasn't worked since I got the truck. That's fun in these conditions, too. But the Espar heater works and I can idle, if necessary. Plus the inverter does work; it just sucks battery juice fast.
