Call HR, make sure what address they have on file for you... Plus they might be able to fax it to you, or email it (maybe... Depends on how paranoid they are)... Then you would have it.

That's unfortunate. I've found that more and more of our shippers are getting used to balancing loads for California, even if they aren't going there. I can usually set my tandems at 40 before scaling and be pretty sure that I'm balanced out even when heavy any more.

I will be getting both a 1099 and a W2 from them this year and I've gotten the 1099 but not the W2.

The accident I had in KC has given me some unexpected added expenses. Apparently LO insurance does not have a non-insured/underinsured provision. So, because the driver at fault is underinsured, I'll be paying my deductable and not be compensated for all the driving time I've missed between trucks. Soooo, to get back on my feet financially, I'm upping the time table on becoming a trainer. It's kind of against my better judgement since I was waiting for winter to be over (especially this winter), since I didn't want to add that to the other pressures of having my first student, but things are what they are. I hope all goes well.

It's not all sunshine and giant paychecks! Be careful and think long and hard before jumping. These people have absolutely no clue how to safely drive a truck. Some barely speak English, and others have no clue what it take to make it out here. Not saying it's all bad just letting you know it ain't all good! A few weeks by yourself should get you back on your feet no matter what the expenses are. And Central use to be good about working out payment plans for drivers. I'd definitely ask before trying to jump into training before you're ready. Good luck no matter what!!

Never trained, but still talk to my trainer... Also consider, any damage to the truck your student does, YOU pay for... It's 'YOUR' truck. Tony (my trainer) had a student that jumped a curb, did a number on his front end. The repairs came out of HIS pocket, even though it was the students fault.

Now you know why trainers don't always get the best sleep!

Just spent the last hour crawling down an invisible snow covered road with intermitant 0 foot visibility. It's so much fun driving when you can't see the ground. Now I have a new worst winter driving story. Finally made it to safe parking in one piece. Stay safe out there folks.

The difference in time table is only about a month and a half. I just wanted to get through winter first, but I've decided that if it gets bad I'll just drive. I'm aware of all the negatives. I accepted those from the beginning. I'm both patient and fairly fearless too when it comes to others driving. My issue will be sleeping too soundly with a student in the seat I think. And, I'll also have no trouble kicking a student if they aren't fit to drive for some reason that I can't overcome. If I can't train, then I probably won't drive much longer. Training is a necessary part of my business plan. But, it also isn't just about the money either. I WANT to train. I've been one form of trainer or mentor my whole life. And, I've heard all the problems and excuses both legit and not.

And, I'll be working out a payment plan no matter what. The expenses certainly don't destroy my finances, but it does set me back a bit from my plans and tightens things up at home. All total, I'm probably about $2500 behind so if I start training soon, I'll actually get ahead of my time table a bit for a change. Thanks for the good wishes.

One of the first questions I asked when investigating training was whether the student was covered by their own insurance through Central. I was assured that they were. Sooo, I guess I'll revisit that question again when I talk to the training department.
