Ok guys here's the deal.... I really wanna get my cdl and go otr for at least a year. The problum is, I don't have the $4,000 for CDL school. My credit blows due to medical bills (nothing that will not pass dot physical). What else can I do? I tried looking at driversolutions but I don't live in an area where they hire from, since I live in Cali.

You can always try company school training. Schneider has a school down in Fontana area, you could try them. If you search the forums you'll find others but off the top of my head schneider pops into my mind. The main drawback with company schools is you have to sign an contract with them for the first year or so.

    Good luck,

You can go to the library or even the internet and sign up for a "Pelgrant" from the government. That kind of grant you don't have to payback and just about any drivin school will take them. I personally would rather see a rookie driver do that then sign up for one of these company schools. If you do the company thing they make you sign a contract for some ungodly amount of time to get their money out of you. Also with going that way you can't do much on your own, in a sense they own you until they say otherwise. The Pelgrant thing don't require a credit check, they just need to know the school and what you intend to study. My daughter blew her college fund then when she decided to return to college she done this and had her money within 90 days of registering. I hope this helps and good luck with everything.:biggrin_25519:

Were you laid off from a job???? Or can you get laid off????
When I got furloughed, unemployment paid for my training. It falls under employee retraining.

"Recent Grad" I'm not quite sure what your saying but, if you go to the place you want to ask a question in go to the "Post New Thread" click on that and put your question in the appropiate place. Your username will come up automatically when you post. I sure hope this helps with your problem. If it does'nt contact one of the moderators and they should be able to help. If there is anything else I can help with please let me know, I'll try to help as much as I can.
