My name is Doug, I currently live in Cape Canaveral FL. I drove for US Xpress from Oct 2007 to March 2009. I lost my job in 2009 because I got hit with a random drug test after smoking pot on my birthday. I fessed up and cleaned out my truck rather than take the test...which I learned later was the 2nd mistake I made that week. I never did the SAP because I did not learn about untill a few years later. In 2010 I was in a motorcycle wreck that tore me up pretty good and now have a "bad" left knee. Pretty sure I can still double clutch though. Other than the refused drug test I have a perfect driving record. Worst thing that happened while I was a driver before was I knocked a trailer door off once. Was also in a wreck in Laredo that was deemed not my fault.(a mexican trucker made an illegal left turn at hwy 20 & Mines rd).
Friend of mine said I should try getting back in the game so here I am putting some feelers out, see what happens. I think my best bet would be to team up with someone. I may be a bit rusty but it's the shifting I feel I'd need to work on, I was very good at backing. If there is an owner op out there that would give me the chance to redeem myself please email me at ozebeker@yahoo.com. I have no wife/kids so being out for long periods is fine. I also do not need to be based out of FL. Texas, OK and KS would be just as good as Florida.
Right now my goal is to be working, wether it's driving a garbage truck or a big rig. I'm getting a small inheritance, maybe next year, that will help me buy my own truck.
Thanks for the consideration.
Doug
ps, no trolls, I've been punished and have punished myself enough for my mistakes.
pss, sorry if this is a double post, first didnt seem to go through?

Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.
Trying to get back in the game.
