Does'nt bother me.The sound puts me to sleep and I sleep like a baby.If drivers can't handle the idlng of their fellow brothers and sisters then they need to either move or find another line of work. We're everywhere.
truckon, TwinStickPeterbilt and Giggles the Original Thank this. -
See I have a difference of opinion with a few of you. I still can comprehend why you'd want to waste fuel when it's a nice day outside and you can let some fresh air into your truck. I would never say anything to another driver about not idling(manly because I'm afraid of my reaction if they got smart about it) but it does annoy me that on a perfectly nice day I can't enjoy a movie in my sleeper and the fresh air because I have two choose between the to because the person parked next to me has to idle.

what truck stops have fresh air?everyone i go to smells like fuel sweat and pee.truckon, WitchingHour and thelastrebel Thank this.

Dang sure isn't anything fresh about a truck stop when its warm lol. But I will agree on no need to idle on a nice day. But to each their own when and how they drive and operate their truck.

Pilot at Biggs, Or comes to mind for one. The T/A east of Seattle is another. Pilot in weed, CA. Great America in flagstaff. Any place in Wyoming since the wind never stops blowing.

touche'. shall we call it even? yes let's. -
Heat and AC are not the only reasons to idle or run an APU. I fund out the hard way that a CPAP can drain batteries faster than you can sleep. So I run the APU every time I sleep.
Just because YOU don't need to power something while you sleep, others may. Like everything else, each person has different needs. -
so there you go.THE best reason thus far for a driver to idle/apu regardless of the weather.Great post DB.I know several people that use cpap, including that gal i mess with, and apparently they, the cpap, are all that and if a driver gets the sleep he or she needs because of one, then the argument pretty much has now become a moot point.
different needs always breeds posts like these.agreed? -
I see idling as a form of music if you will...maybe its just me
